32 Matt DiBenedetto - Go Fas Racing - leased charter to the 21, has a charter on lease from the 44.
30/33 ??? TBD - Circle Sport Racing /The Motorsports Group (TMG) - Must use or sell charter, cannot lease it. Teams have merged for 2017 season.
34 Landon Cassill - Front Row Motorsports - has charter
37 Chris Beuscher - JTGD - has charter
38 David Ragan - Front Row Motorsports - has charter
44 RPM - leased charter to the 32, folded up shop for 2017.
83 ???- BK Racing - has charter
95 - Michael McDowell - Levine Family Racing - bought charter from #7 TBR last year.
55/98 ???- Premium Motorsports - gets charter back from HSM 46

Not sure why the 32 info was highlighted in blue. There is no new news about the 32 team. For some reason the forum highlighted that row in blue as well as the 30/33 team info.

We're assuming this is what AB was referring to. I don't see how it couldn't be, but there's still that chance.
 
So Cousin Carl is hanging it up? I'm genuinely surprised. But what are these "opportunities" he'll be pursuing?

Same ones Brian Scott is pursuing. I hope Brian didn't beat him to all of them.

Oh, and so much for Biffle taking over behind the mystery retiree.
 
Never was a big Edwards fan until I saw his reaction last year at homestead. He won the last 2 races I went to (Charlotte and darlington in 15'). Wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Credit where it's due. I never, ever would have guessed him, and I thought the clue that the driver had "won a race" since the new Chase format indicated it wasn't someone who wins most every year.

I hope Carl is happy stepping away. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I'd like to think "the grind" that he's tired of is the absurdity of all the changes to the competition. I hope it's not that he came so close to a title twice and doesn't feel like putting himself through that again. Some of the articles appearing state "won't compete in 2017", so he may be leaving the door open.

Don't forget that Carl has been the most vocal of all in calling for the changes that NASCAR has made... lower workforce. I'm sure he is happy about the direction on track racing is taking.

Carl retiring is a shocker. But shock early retirements have been a part of sports forever.

That 2015 Southern 500 win was just Carl to a T. Outlast the competition being able to handle the reduced down force at the time, he was awesome that race.

Good point. I was speaking of other changes, but you're right, he was very happy with the direction of the cars themselves.
 
Gaulding to BK Racing: 18 year-old Gray Gaulding will pilot the #23 Toyota Camry in the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. The team made the announcement at Richmond International Raceway, home track to BK Racing and Gaulding. Gaulding has been competing in some form of racing since the age of three. Gaulding's rookie season in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in 2013 started with a bang with a 2nd place finish in the inaugural Battle at the Beach on the Daytona International Speedway's back straightaway. Gaulding's impressive three year stint in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West included 13 top-five finishes, 25 top-tens, and three pole awards. His first pole award was here at RIR in 2013, making Gaulding the youngest driver to do so at 15 years, 2 months, and 15 days. That same year, Gaulding picked up a win at Phoenix International Raceway making him the youngest driver to win in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at 15 years, 8 months, and 30 days. In 2014-2015, Gaulding moved up to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series where he made 13 starts with one top-five and two top ten finishes. In 2016, Gaulding furthered his career by making starts in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Gaulding's first race in the #23 will be the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 5, 2017. Jeffrey Earnhardt to Circle Sport/TMG ride: indications on the Twitter feeds of Jeffrey Earnhardt and #33 Circle Sport/TMG owner Joe Falk that Earnhardt will be the new driver of the #33 Chevy for the 2017 season. No word if it is a full-time deal or part-time. The team also plans to run some races in the #30-Chevy, an Open team (no Charter). The #33 team has a Charter and is guaranteed to run all the 2017 races. Supposedly an announcement could be made on Wednesday.

He said he had several offers in December. Can we speculate that "nothing on the horizon" means he is either not racing in 2017 or retiring under the radar?

I heard a replay of his interview on my drive this morning. He made it sound like he does no currently have any options. He did say that he had fire suits, helmets & seats so he's ready to go where he may be needed. He also said that he is driving his RV to the first 8 races or so to keep current. It did not sound very promising at all.
