here in Arlington doing computer work. Guy has a bunch of different racecars, saw this sitting hidden in a back corner. He told me he was doing something big, but I wasn't expecting this. IMSA/TUDOR Prototype Lite.

That looks like a kick in the ass. I've never seen a full body single-seater.. A different kind of open ****pit prototype.

the guy has 2 camaro drag cars (1 running 1 parts), co-built a land speed record car (I forget what class, they broke 200 a few years ago with a V6 in the standing mile and are working on a 7 mile bonneville run), a volkswagen drag car, and now this. It's a little hole in the wall car repair shop (remember what I said about Gainsco's shop? This is about the same size) with 4 car lifts for customer cars, a 4 post that the land speed car lives on top of with a camaro underneath, then back in this corner is the prototype, a parts camaro, and the volkswagen.

That's awesome! Love the little shops putting out ambitious projects.

He knows alot about alot of things. Lots of racers "borrow" him for his knowledge. If I had to guess, I think that's how he landed the prototype in his shop. His shop is a high class car repair shop that very few such shops exist for (think middle-high class european cars), he's a MoTeC expert, and his shop is currently 1 of about 30 beta testing some new wireless diagnostic technologies for a select car manufacturer and I've been helping him get everything set up for it. I can't say much because I don't want to say exactly what his shop is or what they do or where it's at.

I talked to him more about it today. Basically, the owner (Don Yount Motorsports) needed a guy with knowledge. So now my friend has the car, everything to go with the car, knowledge about the series, and the check book with already signed checks. He's responsible for all of the pre-rac prep as well as keeping all of the electronics onboard running. The whole car is about 250,000 dollars. The wing alone is $2,500.
