How long till NA$CAR owns IndyCar.

Never.

They don't own DTM, they're just going to start up a new series with the same technical regulations as DTM and Super GT. They'll hold some joint races but they're still distinct series.

NASCAR owns them in other way as far as fan base, media coverage & yearly income. They don't need to buy them out right...

Bring back the speedway division!

I thought that was supposed to happen already..

The IRL from 1996-2007 was basically NASCAR with open-wheel cars (especially 1996-2000). The series is just now getting back to what it should be. They need a few more ovals. They should be at New Hampshire, Phoenix, Michigan and Richmond. I'd like them to be back at the international ovals at Motegi, Lausitz (Germany) and Corby (England) as apart of the new pre-season international tour (though, derp, you can't race in Europe and in the mountains of Japan in winter). High speed oval racing is uniquely American. We should be exporting it and putting on a show for all these "just going in circles" foriengers.

I always wondered why Indycar doesn't race in Australia. Why doesn't Australia have a nice track for Indycar to race on?
There are so many Australian drivers in Indycar, you would think there would be a race down there. Anyone know the answer to this or have any ideas?

Well, there was Surfer's Paradise before the economy went to crap.

I could certainly see it. NASCAR could be the "FIA" of American motorsport and I wouldn't mind that.

France vs. Ecclestone
(I suspect Bernie would to control all open wheel).

NASCAR is part of ACCUS, the US representative to the FIA. Not sure how much they collaborate though.

Heh, yeah. ACCUS always tells the FIA to screw off. Do you guys remember when the FIA told ACCUS that CART could only race on ovals outside of North America?

CART and NASCAR have always told the FIA to pound sand. Conversely, I think the NHRA (also an ACCUS member as I recall) pretty much writes the FIA rules on drag racing since we invented it. That Australian drag racing series is the only one that comes remotely close to professional NHRA drag racing.

It might be a crap event but I would love to see them do Bristol and Martinsville at least once

Their races at Iowa and Richmond have been good/were good. I feel like IndyCars at short tracks is the best kept secret in racing. I wonder how they would do at Bristol. It'd be like flying a fighter jet in a fish bowl.

Maybe 11 to 12 sec laps

I wanted to see IndyCat at Rockingham, just once.
