ARCA 2015

So I guess the only changes are that Elko and Madison are out and Nashville and Iowa are in. Madison was OK, I went for three of the races there, decent place but not too sad to see that one gone. Went to Elko for the 2013 race, that was really excellent, and it is one of the nicest short track facilities in the country, was hoping to make it back to that one someday myself. Both races had very strong sponsorship support from Menards and were right in Menards home (WI & MN). Wonder if Menards is wanting to put less money in to ARCA now?

I'd rather Iowa not be on the ARCA schedule, but Nashville is great. I really enjoyed seeing the K&N Pro Series there and was really excited about the ARCA race there in 2009 (which was later cancelled and replaced by Mansfield). I think that track is a perfect fit for ARCA. Pretty decent schedule for ARCA, wouldn't mind seeing them put a second road course on there or trying out a half mile dirt track in the future.

I am most pleased to see this site has an ARCA section. I love ARCA and all its wackiness.

Maybe he's cutting back. He's been at it for 25 years.

I really dont think so. I think its Menards that is cutting back. I go to around 10 ARCA races a year, so i know Frank, get to talk to him a lot. IMO he is just as passionate about his racing as ever. I dont think he is ready to start cutting back, i think he didn't have a choice... I bet he's working on trying to piece together some more sponsorships to run more races. Will just have to wait and see what happens.

Cool, I'd hate to see him retire. Been a fan for a lot of years.

Yeah, i feel pretty confident that Frank will be running for at least a few more years. Will be interesting to see how the year plays out for him. I'd imagine both him and Venturini would really like to put together some more sponsorships. As far as I know Venturini does not have any driver running for the championships this year (i believe Justin Boston has moved on from ARCA) and i'm sure they would like to compete for it as well. Frank and Venturini will have a good shot at getting some wins for sure!

ARCA still hasn't announced their television package. FOX has stated in press releases that the Lucas Oil 200 will be shown live on FOX Sports 1 but ARCA doesn't mention this. Also, I noticed that Iowa Speedway is no longer listed on their schedule.

If I click schedule on ARCARacing.com it says Iowa ARCA 250 on July 27, 2015

I'm hoping the race from Daytona is on Fox Sports 1 or 2. That way I can set my DVR to record. I'll be out of town that day so a stream is out of the question. My TV provider hasn't even heard of MavTV lol.

Daytona, Talladega, Iowa, IRP and Kentucky are on "The 1". Both Pocono races, Michigan, Chicago and the Kansas finale on FOX Sports 2 with a re-air on FS1.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Frank Kimmel's streak of 387 consecutive starts in the ARCA Series will come to an end Saturday when he sits out at Mobile International Speedway.

The 10-time ARCA champion will shift from driver to coach and spotter at the Alabama half-mile track. Kimmel is 52, and said he knew the day he'd have to get out of the car would eventually come.

"As you get later in your career, things change. I feel very fortunate to have done this as long as I have," Kimmel said. "I know I'm very lucky to have the career I do, but when it does finally happen, it's a little disheartening."

The last ARCA race that Kimmel missed was the season-ending event at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 1996. Since then, Kimmel has driven in every ARCA race.

He'll help Brandon Jones at Mobile. The two are sharing the No. 25 Venturini Motorsports Toyota this season, with each driver slated for 10 races.

Kimmel said he's still hopeful to get more races.

"If something turned around this year, and we secured the necessary sponsorship, I'm still very interested in driving the rest of the schedule," he said.

Kimmel has 491 career ARCA starts since his 1990 debut. He is the all-time winner in series history with 80 victories.

I was really hoping Frank Kimmel would at least be able to pull off doing a start & park for Kimmel racing or some other team to keep his points going in case he could get a deal with someone to run the rest of the season. Looks like Grant Enfinger is probably gonna runaway with the championship this year. I read that Hessert is only confirmed for only the first 5 races (but I bet he will end up running the whole season). Not a lot of strong teams doing the full schedule this year...
