Bonehead of the Year Nominees?

I nominate Kurt Busch. Dude gets a fresh start and decides to let his mouth talk himelf in to a one race suspension.

How is AJ and KB bonehead of the year? Did I miss something?

I abstain. The season is over, man. Stuff happened and people did things. No reason to dwell on the negative. It's time to take a break from all that and enjoy the off season.

And Andy, you need a girlfriend. :D

You realize who you're addressing, right?

I would have to say Kurt Busch.

The Allmendinger thing was disappointing, especially because as an IndyCar fan, I watched him come up through the Indy Lights Champ Car ranks, but reading some of the stuff about his drug problems, seems more like accidental / benevolent type thing than Mayfield's or Shane Hmiel's drug problems.

You're wearin out that 'high road' lately Matt.;) Congrats on another 24 win.

Of the year??? Absolutely has to be the average NASCAR fan for continuing to tune into Brian France's circus side show. Complete with inconsistent fines and penalties for similar "infractions", bullsh!t and unpopular Chase scenario...
Why do we continue to support this crap? It's simple; because even as fukt up as it is, the competetors have more integrity than any other professional, televised sport. True fans recognize this and will impatiently await the long, 98 day off-season.

Well that and there's not really an auto racing series that can rival NASCAR.

1. AJ
2. Kurt

Agreed.
Two guys who both lost their rides due to some bad decision making.
They bounced back, but I'm sure they're both counting their lucky stars, so to speak.
Lessons learned, hopefully.

100% NASCAR (brian that is) sucks

My choice for Bonehead of The Year has to be Tony Stewart. After last seasons romp in the Chase winning 5 of ten Chase races at times driving thru the field like a mad man and then canning his crew-chief at the end of the year. Now this chase he was almost like he wasn't there, won 0 races in the Chase, finished 9th in points and was mediocre at best. Last year after winning he stated that the only difference from the Chase and the rest of the season (which he stated his team didn't deserve to be in the Chase) was that they were giving it 100%. So I have to go with Stewart for canning his Crew Chief and only giving about 50% effort.

I think it proves that winning races is a crapshoot . Leading the points race is what proves who the best team is . There was nothing wrong with the old points system be everyone wanted to reward wins. Tony proved them wrong.Mediocre teams have lucked into wins forever but none has won a points championship under the old format.

AJ and Kurt's deals were off track.

Maybe we need off track and on track awards?

As an average Nascar fan , unlike you guys whom I consider to be elite Nascar fans , I thoroughly enjoyed the Nascar season and want to thank Brian France for the great job. Looking forward to 2013.
On behalf of the other average Nascar fans , I humbly accept the Bonehead of the Year Award.

Jeff Gordon
You put JG up because you know he will take Jr (your driver) out next year at the bristol race March 17th for purposely cutting down his tire and therefore wrecking him at Martinsville.

I agree completely with:
1. AJ
2. Kurt

Both of these guys pretty much have no career left at this point...for very different reasons..but still

Austin Dillon isn't bone head of the year. But the hat and head first lunges are peculiar choices that at least are worth mentioning.

Just to switch it up...

Carl Edwards. Did this guy even race this year? On tv this year I saw him more in the ESPN booth then actually on the track.

I love that Kyle, nor Carl won teh cup this year. That makes me happy.
And Denny can go cry a river.
Kyle couldn't even win a NW race.

Good call.

Clint Bowyer. For putting the 24 and 48 three wide in the turn at M-Ville.

You know, I'm tired of seeing things like this for one reason, not cause it's Clint or Jeff or Jimmie, but the fact that Ryan Newman is the one who hit Clint and pushed him into them, I don't know why anyone doesn't ever mention Newman doing that.

You know I'm going to go with Stewart for wrecking the whole field at Talladega
