Can JGR win half the cup races in 2013?

While we're all searching for the origins of that fender ( no, not that Fender), I thought I'd start a thread to get some debate going.

Hamlin and Busch have both won 8 races in one year, while Kenseth has won 5 and Gibbs has finally dumped the dead weight. So, what are the chances of JGR winning 18 races in 2013?

For a bonus question, any predictions when Stenhouse will get his first win? I'm going with Las Vegas in March

The chances are zer0. That was with a big fat zero.

Your are treading dangerously close on my BOLD prediction though for this year with this subject. :(

Fenders origin I believe was determined in another thread when someone happened to capture Danica doing a rather personal autograph for him/her.

I think HMS may foil those plans. They tend to do well right out of the gate on new car designs.

But JGR certainly has some outstanding driving talent this year. If they can fix their reliability issues they may have a shot at winning 10-12 races.

0% chance of this happening. The edge JGR had left with his motor program. As we seen last year with MWR, it leveled the compitition in the Toy*ta camp. Good for MWR, not so good for JGR.

LOL. Don't have a coronary and THAT was Fender? Holy ****

The key.

JGR's reliability last year was terrible, and not just engines. If you believe eveything Denny and Kyle say (danger, will robinson), their races were filled with dropped cylinders, smoking switches and broken steering parts.

It seems to me that Toyota had a power advantage early on because they got to use a racing block before anyone else. Now that block is starting to show it's age while the later blocks from Ford and Chevy still have some legs. Trying to keep up is the reason for so many failures, IMO. Kyle is also a bit hard on his equipment, especially on restarts. I'm convinced he disables his rev limiter to get an edge and sometimes pays the price.

I expect Matt to grab many of his wins from Kyle and Denny at tracks where JGR still seems to hold an edge, short tracks and road courses.

I'm a Kenseth fan but he couldn't win a road race against Smokey Bear. I'd be scared to get in a car with him around town ;)

Ditto. He turns right about as badly as Mr. Excitement used to. I'm also concerned about JGR's engine reliability.

Regardless, it ain't happening. What was the last season that more than one driver had over six wins, much less three on the same team?

I've got Kyle in Spike's pool this weekend and I may be able to deliver you a win . Best I can do.:D

Since I read in the proverbial papers that Hamlin will come back with some back pain and won't have surgrey until the offseason, I have a feeling that he might be plagued by pain the rest of the year and not his usual self in the driver's seat.

What's with JGR and HMS having all good drivers in their stables? I remember when good NASCAR teams used to have one crap guy. HMS needs to bring back Jerry Nadeau to drive the fourth car and JGR can bring back JJ Yeley.

Not too late to get in and give Matt a run for his money . But then , trying to handle two games at once can sap a persons strength .;)
Thanks anyway Ted, I've had him blocked since last fall.

You've had Spike blocked ? No wonder you missed out on the pool. You know ,some of us would be doing better in dpk's pool if we weren't workin so hard at Spike's.

Half the Cup races - possible. I'm still not convinced Kyle can take the bad along with the good though. If he can learn to put one bad race here and there behind him, he could easily win 10+ races.

I don't think Jimmie and Chad have shown their stuff yet and I don't think Keselowski's going to remain this quiet, performance wise, all year.

It's possible with their trio of drivers, but if I had to put money on it I would say they won't.

I doubt it. I think a number around 10 is more likely.

As for Stenhouse's first win, I say Spring Texas two years from now.

This thread was started before we saw how the Gen6 car was going to perform. Top tier teams that ran well last year and are commonly in The Chase are struggling early on. Some have had bad luck and some just haven't gotten the hang of the new car.
Cream rises to the top. The great teams will eventually figure out the new car and will be a factor in this year's Chase.
From the looks so far, Matt Kenseth will be hard to beat in the JGR 20 car. Matt has run well at most of the races so far. Kyle has run well also. Roush cars have run well at certain tracks. HMS has also had some good runs. SHR, not so much. RCR, not so much. MWR has had competitive cars, too. I expect the competition to tighten as the season progresses.

It makes me laugh that Johali blocked me for calling him out on his BS. There is no lower form of person than one who lies about military service.

When did Johali lie about that?

I'm sorry if I started something there . I didn't mean anything by it. I was kidding Johali because I assumed that he was talking about blocking Matt . (which he has in the past). I didn't know there was any history with you or I wouldn't have said that. I certainly don't know that he blocked you .My apologies.

Your good ted, no harm, I unblocked him a while back, I knew that he couldnt take being blocked thats why I said it. What he said isnt true, I was in Viet Nam in the Marines but this isnt the place for it, it was in the podium and should stay there and my apologies to the rest of you for my part in it.

I honestly didnt know you had me blocked. Nor do I care.

The fact that you knew nothing about Marine Force Recon despite claiming to be one and had no clue what operational security was, all I have to say is keep up with the lie bro. You may have been in the military, but you definitely werent what you claim you were. Just own up to it, no one will think less of you.

Was jus wondering we got a little hot over the NRA qi just have strong opinions of things at time I guess you are at time too lol two olde bulls butting horns
