Cup RACE thread --- Martinsville

Would probably be more expensive than everyone would like, but I wonder if they’d develop “grooved slick” tires just for Martinsville.

I've always thought tires were the way to go but for some reason Goodyear has gotten away with hard tires for years. Nothing would mix the races up any more than tires that drivers had to manage instead of rocks that never wear out.

There was some talk of doing a test with with grooved slicks last year but I don’t remember it ever happening or anything coming of it. With the wider tires it seemed like an interesting idea to try to reduce the contact patch at certain tracks.
