Fantasy Predictor Cup: Off-Week

It may be an off week for the Sprint Cup Series, but Fantasy NASCAR keeps on rolling. For our Racing-Forums competitors, I just wanted to post the recap of the weekend here, although there are no predictions to be made this week.

We do cover the Xfinity and Truck Series as well, however those were never really offered to you to begin with. I am assuming you don't want to join in on those Series. But in case you're curious, I posted our Chase Grids for those series at the bottom of the post here. Maybe that's something you all can consider joining in 2017.

Question of the week: It seems Iowa is the most popular idea during discussions of future Cup Series tracks. If you could choose one track other than Iowa for the Cup Series to race at, which would you choose? (Avoid choosing tracks that used to have a Cup race).

Captain51 (#51) started on the Pole and led the entire first half of the race. At the halfway point, pit stops and a caution really shook things up. Captain51 went from the highest score to a score of 0. Rayday15 (#15) led at that point. Unfortunately, leading the updates where things are abnormal, that doesn't end with a good finish for you. Soon after, Captain51 lost his dominant lead. In fact, it was beginning to look like we'd have a repeat winner in Cup for just the 3rd time this year. With 50 to go, the entire top-5 were previous winners: @Blaze88 (#69), Dodge (#89), Slicedbread96 (#96), David (#97), and Petr Smetana (#43). With 25 to go, Captain51 took the lead once again, hoping to close out one of the more dominant performances of 2016. But unfortunately it just was not meant to be. Numbah10hatah (#38) and Jolly Mean Giant (#67) were tied for the win. Both were going for their first win of the year. Jolly Mean Giant swept the New Hampshire races last year, but Numbah10hatah missed out on the Chase by just a handful of points. But this time, it was Numbah10hatah in victory lane, with his name now in the Chase. He'll be hoping to compete in a playoff he was so close to making just one year ago. I knew at one point last week I was doing good. Really wish Chase had got around Joey. I would have had 4 of the top 5 right. (1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th.) that would had been good for me.
 
Never posted the Chase Grids for the other Series, my bad. This is just in case anyone is curious. If you want to join these series now, you could. But I advise waiting to 2017.

I usually post the standings how they would be at certain points during the race. Would you like me to do so here as well?
 
I don't pay nearly enough attention to the lower series to field an honest team (notice I didn't say competitive!) Not having a good year in these leagues but it matters in nowise to me, just in it for fun. Following three series would be approaching 'work' for me. But thanks for letting us get in the Cup league, it is a fun thing to do. There is luck involved but there are also a lot of sharpies who are at the top week in and week out so props to those folks.
 
Understood, @Bob. And there's nothing saying you have to do them either. It's just open for you guys if you're willing. And don't sell yourself out just yet. Look at @The Long Shot, he's not having too hot of a year compared to his near championship year last year. He was 2 points away from making it to Homestead in the Chase in 2015 in a season where he had 4 wins. Granted, we only had about 20 players then.

I like to believe I'm very accessible, so if there's anything more I can do to better your experiences in this Fantasy League, I'd love to hear how you all feel. I'd much rather hear ideas I don't like than hear nothing at all. So the more things I hear, the better I can serve all of you.

Only now thinking of this, but were the race awards ever explained to any of you guys?
 
Since this information was available elsewhere, for your own curiosity, I'll show you the final 2015 points. Keep in mind, none of the statistics prior to 2016 are being kept.
Of all the competitors you see here, only @Blaze88, Maverick11, and Jakub Smetana were able to keep rookie status into 2016 due to participating in less than 7 races in 2015.
