NASCAR TV in Japan: NASCAR announced a broadcasting partnership with Nippon Television Network (NTV), Japan's top-rated commercial TV broadcaster. This three-year deal strengthens NASCAR coverage in Japan and brings viewers the excitement and teamwork of the world’s most competitive motorsports series. Through this exclusive partnership with NTV, NASCAR will develop its presence in Japan and continue to make it one of the sport’s leading international markets. The NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series will be seen on NTV’s broadcast channel G+, while NTV will integrate NASCAR segments throughout their sports programming. Nippon Television Network, Japan’s largest television broadcaster, will customize their NASCAR coverage and take their audience inside NASCAR. All race broadcasts will be customized with Japanese commentary and graphics to provide unique coverage to Japanese viewers. NASCAR begins the 2004 season with an expanded global reach that includes weekly television broadcasts in more than 150 countries and in 23 languages. This year, NASCAR’s international broadcast partners will air more than 4,000 hours of NASCAR-related programming outside the U.S.(NASCAR PR)(3-9-2004).
