If tradition continues then we are only 5 days away from the newly designed nascar.com website that will debut on January 1st. For me it normally takes until somewhere around June to even want to browse their page. This year may be different. Turner is no longer involved. This is a welcome change IMO and may finally allow NASCAR to explore more interactive features than ever before. It may be wishful thinking on my part but I believe that we are going to see many changes for the good in their online presence. NASCAR's been gearing up for this moment for some time now, I just hope it's not a disappointment.

I'm interested in seeing what Trackpass options will be available. I've subscribed to the scanner for several years and more often than not there have been techical glitches during the races. Hopefully they'll offer more in-car stuff where it's real time. Race Buddy was pretty bad as far as delay.

I subscribed to their full package for years until last season when I reduced it down to just the scanner option. I'm thinking about upgrading back to the full package again. It's cheaper than the price of a ticket to most races. The scanner is definitely worth the price and adds a lot to the event. To date, we've been able to run multiple occurrences of it simultaneously allowing us to listen to a few channels throughout the race. We just got done upgrading our in-house network over Christmas to a faster router and new PC with a 27" screen. I'm thinking that Trackpass would look awesome on this setup. I'll try the free trial that they normally offer at the beginning of the season before deciding.

I thought the Scanner was a great bargain overall. It malfunctioned quite a bit but was generally decent. If I get a new laptop I might try whatever the top package is since I'll be able to see it from my davenport.

Can't you pump it thru your smart TV?

I don't know. Probably with a media share type app of some sort I'm sure. I never really looked into that in any detail.

I don't see anything on my TV app store for nascar. I was hoping they already had something for other brands.

That new PC that you highlighted is the ticket. I'm no longer a gamer with my PC. Little time for that these days. I got a HP Omni 27 along with a much faster router. The combo works great. The PC is wireless with the exception of A/C power. Very mobile in the house and will be a great addition to our NASCAR viewing.

I tend to use wired for streaming because it allows higher image quality. It would be great to have a TV app that supports scalable PiP and easy audio switching.

Not anymore. I'm streaming HD video over my network with no reduced quality at all.

I'm glad you guys have luck with routers. I can't get mine to stop disconnecting every 10 minutes lol.

It would also be a good idea to check for updated firmware while in there.

Yes! Updating the firmware is like getting a new router. I used to have to power cycle my Linksys WRT160N every day until I updated the firmware. Now it runs like a champ. (but I still need new router because of the stupid WPS flaw)

Thanks for the advice. I've changed the channel and it didn't change anything. It only happens on one laptop and not the others so it has to be the computer.

Updated firmware can sometimes make all the difference. I personally run dd-wrt on the two routers which I use.

Check for a driver update for your wireless card.

I'm looking forward to the new changes. I hope it's better. I'm glad for the changes because I'm not a fan of ANYTHING Turner.

Soon, I'm going to install a wireless router in my head. THEN, I won't have to sit at this keyboard, and all of you will become a part of my streaming consciousness.

And you all can become part of my 'interior monologue'.

Is there racing on soon?

Somebody slipped something into your coffee this morning...

Is there a difference at nascar.com today? If it is, I'm missing the changes. It looks to be the same to me.
