The real championship thread

The Ford camp is well represented down there.

A champion is a champion because the rules and the trophy say he is.
I don't care who wins it this time, like em or not, they'll be the champion and that will still go in the record books and mean something.
If you can survive this crazy system and bring it home at the end, you deserve it.

Exactly , that's why I'm 100% behind Timmy Hill and his " drive for one " this year . If he can win one of the next group of races , it will put him in contention at Homestead . All he needs is a shot and he could win it all . I hope that all of you will get aboard the Timmy Hill bandwagon.

Unless kyle busch wins it, then the format will be a joke and everyone will complain ;)

I think Kyle's best bet for a Championship will come when the champion is chosen by the sportswriters like in college football. Then racing can get back to racing.

Find anyone who actually thought that race was good, please send me his drug dealers number

Why wasn't the race "good?" Because there was no drama on who was in and who was out? That has more to do with those particular teams sucking so bad. Maybe if they had shown up to race they would have made it more interesting.

The fastest car at the end, won. There were no funny cautions etc.

Seems you guys always find something to complain about. Too many cautions, not enough cautions and so on..

The race was good, just not thrilling or exciting. Therein lies the diff.

Ehh, that race was whack, man. One guy dominated most of it, the field got strung out, there were very few cars still on the lead lap at the end...it was typical Dover. Ho hum.

that's what happens quick on a short track or just about any track with long green runs..they run long and they bitch, throw a caution and it's a bitch fest manufactured drama. Ho hum:rolleyes: It was a survival race, stay out of trouble. On to the next one.

Gotta agree with you here SOI. Even though a long green run can make a race anti-climatic, I'd much rather see that than a plastic cup caution artificially bunching up the field.

if they would have thrown one..the Jeffy fans would still be arguing about it and cursing the day that Kez was born.

I guess I don't get bored easily. I didn't think it was a great action packed race, but at the last when they were all riding around, there was an element of suspense to it. Anything could have happened that could have blown somebodies dress up. It didn't though

Yep, I think even Kasey Kahne said afterwards he was glad NASCAR let it play out. That's what I like to see.

The ' fantasy debris cautions extremists' always need to make up a reason when there are no late race cautions . (Which is most races ) .This joking remark by Kasey is all they need to explain the lack of late cautions .

It wasn't the first time he's called them out on it.

"We worked hard all day, got ourselves in a good position. I think it was going to be a good points day, and NASCAR threw a debris caution for no debris, which caused Kurt Busch to hit the wall, which caused me to go to the grass and Greg Biffle. And from there, that caused the whole next wreck on the front stretch. It's disappointing that we had a bad race because of a caution to put a show on for the fans. That's a good part of the sport, we have to keep the fans excited, but sometimes it ruins people's days, and today it was our day."

More often than not the final run to the finish is very short. 140 laps is definitely a rarity.

Good thing points don't matter anymore. Logano and Keselowski have the most wins and most Top 5s and are a combined 137 points out of 1st.

This chase is such BS

No amount of bitching will matter. NASCAR doesnt listen to it's fans.

The point differential atop that leaderbard makes me appreciate what we have currently all that much more.

I appreciate a victor who has accumulated the most points all season. No matter who wins the championship. Earnhardt would be sick to his stomach to watch this unfold.
