Who Should I Vote For?

First of all, relax, no politics here!

As some of you already know, with Jeff Gordon's retirement, I have not selected a favorite driver to cheer for and nor do I plan to. Especially when running the NASCAR fantasy league here, and with all the social media pages that are involved with that (info for that at the bottom of this post), I have found it to be much easier to just sit back and enjoy the sport overall and not constantly worry about a specific driver. Even when attending the race at Chicagoland, for the first time in 15 years I was soaking in the whole experience instead of looking for that #24 (Although I admit, I was rather passionately upset when that caution came at the end as I would've loved to witness Chase's first win).

My point in all this is that I am left in the dilemma that I do not have a driver to vote for as most popular driver, and I want YOU, the wonderful people that enjoy racing-forums.com, to decide just who I vote for.

Voting for Most Popular Driver ends on November 19, so I very well may re-post this later to get more feedback from all of you! And in the Fantasy NASCAR League I run here, beginning November 22, you can vote for the Most Popular Predictor where all of the 2016 players will be voted on by their peers and by anybody here on Racing-Forums, Facebook, Twitter, and another website.

So in the comments here, tell me which driver to vote for in each series! And whatever driver in each series gets the most comments will get my vote. Bonus points for those that give me explanations for why I should vote that driver!

Let this also be an opportunity to discuss our favorite drivers and drivers that we are impressed with, but PLEASE no bashing of any driver and I don't want to see anyone being put down for a driver they are expressing support for. Let's keep it all positive here!

So who should I vote for? You tell me! Tell me what you all think!!

Ask yourself, is Chase Elliot a worthy heir to the 24? If so, your decision is obvious. As for me, I will always stay true, vote 2.

I hope Stewart gets one before he retires. I assume the Earnhardt fans will still hold sway like always however.

I've stuck with Gordon, Stewart, and Kenseth for the good, bad, and ugly over the years as my favorites. I'm in a similar situation but fortunately I like a lot of drivers as a second tier of favorites and I only dislike a few (that group tends to vary year to year) - chances are a driver I like is running near the front so I always have someone to cheer for. I've warmed up to Kyle Busch, I hated him to start but his racing has won me over and he is becoming a favorite. I'm watching Larson, Elliot, and Blaney with interest, I might add one or all three to my favorites. I don't feel the need to immediately adopt new favorites.

I want to clarify that I am not looking for a new favorite. I'm perfectly content being a fan of the sport itself. Thank you all for your input, let's keep it going!

Elliott
Sieg
Crafton
Cornet Ching
Gilliland

I'll play along.....

Vote Dale Jr. because he's the best ever.

A vote for anyone but Dale Jr or Chase Elliott is probably wasted...

@Larsonfan1995, the point of this isn't to only choose a driver that has a chance at the award. I'm not concerned with that. Many people follow many different drivers. The point of this award is to give the fans a chance to promote their drivers. SO I'm doing exactly that by giving all of you a chance to show your NASCAR pride for any driver. And the driver that gets the most mentions (bonus points for reasons why), will get my vote. Again, I'm not concerned with their chances of winning the award or not. Let's be able to discuss and showcase any driver in the sport!

I switched from Dale Junior to cheering for Brad ( Thank you Junior for giving this kid a real chance ) and the reason is he did the most with the least at Penske. My second choice would be Logano simply because he is a hard charger and he got screwed over coming to cup in Tony's car and having to put up with his two team mates at the time. Once away from JGR he has excelled and I think he could have done that at HMS or RCR.
