Xfinity RACE thread -- Mid-Ohio

This is my first day here and I am a little confused. I do not remember a race run in the rain. Is this only for road courses? In Cup races they stop the race and then dry the track.
Road courses only. It's happened at Road America a couple of times as well.

Hi! Welcome aboard!

This is for the road course only. This has happened in the Xfinity series a couple of times in the last five years (Road America, and Circuit Villeneuve in Canada). Goodyear has also brought rain tires to the Cup road races but there hasn't been an opportunity to use them yet.

It's possible to do this. Hardly any of these guys just have enough experience to be able to handle it.

Watching NASCAR in the rain is really weird, kinda like watching the Olympic diving event compete in an empty pool

Getting to the point where there'd be too much standing water to go green again. These are more of an intermediate tire than a full wet.
