Ted@economy, That's a great picture. He's one of my favorites. I believe he was the first guy to ever "dirt track" a car on purpose. It looks like he is abusing the right rear. I love it.

It is. If I am not mistaken, that was part of the transmission. Since they only turned left on dirt, that was the only wheel needed to power the car. So to save weight, there was no drive to the left rear. That sounded so good, I almost believed it myself. All kidding aside, that is part of the drive train.
