Didn't know if starting a new thread was fine so i decided to write my first post here cause i really want to take part in this game. If i understand correctly i just have to write here in this thread that i'd like to be in the game and then send you cia private message my pick. If i missed that i need to do something else please tell me :)
Looking forward to be able to actually take part in the conversations that till now i could only read.
You understand correctly.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome, and you have understood it right

Click on the user's name (pjmolo) and select "start a conversation"

Then, as per the official rules (that were apparently made to be broken) . . .

"The title of the private message should read "NASCAR Pick 'Em 2017." The message should read, "Name of Race Location - Driver Pick." Following confirmation of the pick, a player's subsequent picks should be made using the same conversation."

I want to bump this so I can remember to pick and "start my conversation" today
closer to or during Duels. There are a couple drivers I want another look at.

With less than 24 hours until this week's deadline there have been about a dozen picks made for the Daytona 500.

Several more have expressed an interest in the game and I'm hoping that there's a sizable number who are waiting until tonight's Duels are over before making their pick.

If you plan on playing but have yet to make a selection, the deadline for the Daytona 500 pick is tomorrow (Friday the 24th), noon Eastern time.

For those unfamiliar with the game, the updated Official Rules were previously posted in this thread (message #25).

DEADLINE TO MAKE A PICK FOR THE DAYTONA 500 IS NOON TODAY, EASTERN TIME

I'll give this a try this year, hopefully I can remember to keep making my picks.

With a little over an hour to make a selection for this Sunday's race, we've got a total of 20 players so far.

For anyone who fails to make a pick this week, just a reminder that you can still get in the game up until the fourth race of the season (Phoenix).

However, you'll get the maximum 41 points for any race that you don't make a pick (lower is better).

I'm surprised at the low count. This is one helluva good game.
I do think it's, by far, the best and most strategic game on the boards. You've got to take into account the season in its entirety to play and play well.

I'm only not playing this season because of outside interests taking me away from the boards most weekends. I tend to miss the deadline and don't want to waste @pjmolo's time. I'll be back in future years when things are less pressing.

There's got to be an awful lot of work involved in keeping track of this game. I'd urge anyone to take part in this game if possible if you're willing to put your NASCAR smarts on the line.

Competition's tough. Are you up for it? :D

I definitely enjoyed the game a couple of years ago when I last played. I'm sitting out only because I am without cable so I wont be watching any races, thus my picks would be random involving no strategy at all. Also with NASCAR not on my mind too much, I too would likely miss the deadline. Good luck to everyone playing! I'll sit back and watch and hope that it's a competitive year.

The deadline to make a pick for the 500 has come and gone and we have a total of 21 participants.

I'll post all of the picks in a new thread either tonight or early tomorrow.

What did I miss? I know damn well, I picked the pole-sitter like Tuesday.
