We'll be there as well. Actually I have to attend a wedding on the Saturday but plan on being there Sunday.

Thanks Johali that would be awesome, but I'm usually going through there in the middle of the night or real early in the morning. Due to turning the clock forward 1 hour this weekend I will be losing 4 hours between the west and east coast.:)

Jacked for this weekend. By Sunday post race, I think we have a good feel for the season. Worried about my TRD Toyotas honestly. First practice today will be interesting.

Tire: Goodyear Eagle Speedway Radials

Set limits:
Cup: 4 sets for practice, 1 set for qualifying/start of race and 8 sets for race
Xfinity: 7 sets for the event

Tire Codes: Left-side -- D-4724 Right-side -- D-4726

Tire Circumference: Left-side -- 87.48 in. (2,222 mm) Right-side -- 88.66 in. (2,252 mm)

Minimum Recommended Inflation:
Left Front -- 22 psi Left Rear -- 22 psi
Right Front -- 58 psi Right Rear -- 54 psi

Storyline - New Tire Compounds Will Lead to More Wear and Fall-off: Even though it was repaved many years ago, the track surface at Las Vegas Motor Speedway has not traditionally worn tires much. This past January, Goodyear tested at Las Vegas with the expressed intent of introducing more wear with its tire set-up. What was developed was a brand new combination of tires, with compound changes on both sides of the car to enhance wear for greater fall-off over the course of a run and increase grip to match up with the lower downforce package the Cup cars are running. The right-side tire Goodyear is bringing to Las Vegas is a multi-zone tread tire and will handle well the progressive banking, loads and speeds that this track is known for.

Notes: Teams In both the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series will run the same tire set-up at Las Vegas this week . . . this is the first time these teams have run either of these two tire codes . . . this combination of left- and right-side tires came out of a Goodyear test at Las Vegas on January 10-11 . . . drivers participating in that test were Chase Elliott, Matt Kenseth, Joey Logano and Jamie McMurray . . . compared to what was run at Las Vegas last year, this left-side tire (D-4724) features a compound change to enhance grip and introduce more tire wear . . . while this right-side tire (D-4726) is a multi-zone tread tire similar to what the Cup cars ran at Las Vegas last year, it features a construction change to bring it into line with what is run at other speedways and a compound change on the outboard 10 inches of the tread for more grip and higher wear . . . Goodyear Racing's multi-zone tread right-side tires employ two distinct compounds on the same tread - one on the inboard two inches that is tougher for more heat and wear resistance on the part of the tire that takes the most abuse (Endurance Zone) and one on the outboard 10 inches for more grip (Traction Zone) . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run liners in all four tire positions at Las Vegas . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.

IndyCar coverage from St. Pete made a point to snicker at the folks getting snowed on in Pocono, then rubbed it in by mentioning their next stop being at Long Beach, CA.
