Kevin Harvick: ‘We’re better than Truex’ on 1.5-mile tracks

Well I think qualifying, practices, and past performance play a role in determining how a race MIGHT go. You seem to be watching for a long time as well, that doesn’t seem to make sense to you?
If u would ever listen to what I say and stop putting words in my mouth.. I said yesterday practice.. not all past practices geesh!! Yesterday was like 37 degrees! Today race will be like 30 degrees warmer.. HOW HARD IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND?????

No I was going off the JJ argument lol.. anyways u and I both no big weather swings like this is going to mean different cars being better and different racing .. like I said those practices from the other day was just trying to guess for Sunday.. all the teams was saying it too.. don’t see what the argument is about here
I’m not arguing. You tried to lecture me on how you thought I was wrong about practices not meaning anything for today and I disagree. Even with the weather change, I think we’ll have a small indicator on how it will go today.

Tough morning?

No I just hate when people put words in my mouth.. Let me guess, if they would have qualified Friday it would be the same as they lining up today right lol?
I don’t understand your question. I believe They only got 1round in, so that’s what we have starting today’s race. It might have very likely been different if they got the other 2 rounds in.

Yea they got one round in because of weather.. same thing goes for practice yesterday and Friday.. u will see watch.. those cars that’s starting up front especially Kurt Busch isn’t going to be up front today lol

So then who do you have your eye on besides Truex or Harvick to run up front today?

Happy hour is ALWAYS ALWAYS an indication for one thing...speed, and sometimes long runs. Handling will be a different animal with the weather, but you can always look to happy hour to see who will be "fast". A fast car and a good handling car is not the same thing

Thanku

I'm supporting both you guys lol.

I think your case plays more into the 10 lap averages not being an indicator. Cars the post lap times will be fast, but that doesnt mean the car will race good. In contrast, that doesnt mean the cars wont be able to be adjusted.

Suarez has a very fast car this weekend, but a combination of inexperience, changing track conditions, and other teams adjusting their cars better, the 19 likely wont be able to maximize their speed with a car that is handling to Suarez' liking that can compete for a win. I think this is the point you are making, and I agree.

However, final practice provides an indication on which cars were *fast*. That itself I dont think can be denied, because it can be an indication of how the race may be..it also depends on the team, and their history. The 4 for example..if they are fast in practice, they are fast in a race, regardless of changing weather conditions. Carl Edwards used to be like that. Brad was...KB not so much..from 2005, practice wasnt always an indication on how he ran, for better or for worse. So the 18 team plays into what you are saying, both with winning cars and struggling cars. But some teams who are good in practice usually are good in races, regardless of the weather.

So you guys are ultimately both right and wrong. It's definitely not black and white.

He trolls JJ, we know his practice speed discussion as about JJ, but its all good. I'm curious how he'll react when Jimmie wins again, which will happen at some point. :p

On a serious note, Jeff Goldblum may be the greatest living thing in the universe
Wtf this had to do with weather and not JJ!!! I give u credit for what u said earlier and y’all make it about JJ, nobody or worried about JJ I posted what pat said about weather and this whole thing been about weather and y’all talking bout a 15 min practice with JJ fastest?? Are u serious??

Your first mistake I’m dealing with Mr General was insinuating that the 48 might perform well

Kevy meant to say that he was better than Truex but not as good as Kyle. No worries. We figured that out.

KDB wasn't better than Truex last year and he isn't so far this year.

...and you base that on what? A points system most hate? A single race to decide the title like most hate? What? ....and he isn't better than Truex this year? Based on......well, points won't help you because they are bull**** right? No, wait, last year, they weren't bull****, but this year they are? Give me one of MY TRD powered Toyota '18 Camrys, and I will want Kyle Busch behind the wheel every time. Every. Damn. Time.

Yeah how'd that prediction go?

The car performed well. Was a legit top 6 car on the leaderboard most the race. Just got put in a whole, then wrecked.

Top 7 car at Autoclub, drove into the top 10 at Martinsville before getting moved out by Logano, top 6 or so car at Texas...they're finding speed, just not executing well. They'll get it together and be competitive but still don't have it right now

huh? both of them have been in the cup series for years
Apparently, you did not catch my meaning. CAR-wise and CREW-wise, Truex & Co. are ahead of Kyle Busch right now, meaning that he has the better car and crew at the moment.

Truex hasn't won on a short track, so yeah .......... Kyle is a much better overall driver
Seeing how he ran at short tracks last year, as well as at Martinsville this year, I have a hunch that this is going to change. ;)

Truex destroyed the field under the normal points system.
