Hamilton wins pole, Vettel second but will take a 3 grid penalty.

Boring weekend so far.

Wow. Hamilton wins the pole. What a surprise! Whoever gets out in front over the first few turns (likely Hamilton) will almost certainly win the race. Why do they even both running races in that series?

I'm looking forward to the race and hoping Vettel has the pace to mount some sort of challenge without being a bonehead. No, F1 has not been entertaining in the past month or so. It was for several rounds earlier in the season. I am not particularly interested in reading about disinterest from those who never find F1 worthwhile anyway.

I had no clue F1 was in the US this weekend. I acknowledge I don't follow the series, but I would have thought it would have been promo'ed during something else I was watching. Guess not.

It does seem like the general hype machine in mass media is rather muted this year. Not sure why.

ESPN doesn't bother to run ads for it. They barely paid for rights to broadcast without even putting their own people on it. It's basically on auto pilot.

Really hope NBC comes back but it will be have to be different given how ESPN had to change the game and run the races without interuption. I think that changes the game somewhat.

I'd still take Leify, hobbs and that other guy whose name I cant remember with the commercials though. Brundle and his pals can get a bit annoying with their homerism.

I actually saw a lot of ads for it during their college football coverage today. I think they've run several features during SportsCenter and Good Morning America as well.

Granted, I don't think that will make a dent in viewership, but ESPN actually somewhat tried this week.

I don't know what the forecast is but it's rained a little bit this weekend, hopefully that happens Sunday too.

Looking for something to be interested in today? These are my key interests today:
Can Grosjean have a good day starting 8th.

And these 3 drivers knotted up with 53 points each:
Grid start ………………………... Driver
7 ………….…………………. Hulkenberg
10 ………..…………………….. Perez
12 …………………………….. Magnussen

Kimi is out!

Hopefully he's not eating the tires up like he did at Monza. Control the pace.

Looks like he is eating them tires up.

Vettel sure gets a lot of breaks. That should have been a penalty.

Poor Ric.

It sure looks like ferrari screwed up again.

A freshed pitted Hamilton..in third? A matter of time, imo.

Well Ferrari just bailed out Mercedes there.

It amazes me how fast you can be on new tires and be held up by someone on 20 lap old tires.

The German commentators are nearly falling asleep.
So far the broadcast is commercial, talking Vettel's strategy, commercial, talking Vettel's strategy, commercial...

It has been fairly interesting, imo.

The strategies have been entertaining thus far. We have Kimi, Verstappen and Hamilton all in play.

I would definitely pit Hamilton right now.

Is Mercedes waiting for a miracle? Pit, you dumb *****.

Yeah, the race is quite interesting, but almost half of the broadcast consists of commercials. Maybe they have more commercials because it's a prime time race.

Since ESPN has leeched off Sky Sport's feed they dont cut to commercials. They tried to in the first race and it was a debacle so they went flag to flag after it.
