Xfinity RACE thread --- Nashville

Complaining about Xfinity now, you all remember the Buschwacker days? This is mild compared to what was in place back then.
I suspect if Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson or another fan favorite ran and won this race, that’d be okay. But because it was Kyle Rowdy Busch it’s the worst thing in the world. I enjoy watching Kyle race any series, he’s worth the price of admission

For some, maybe. Not me.

even said so last week during the Truck race I didn’t want Chase to win. Once you have a certain level of experience in the Cup series it’s ridiculous running the lower series IMO.

It’s been done since NASCAR has been around, I’ve never had a problem with it during my time being a fan. I enjoy watching a Saturday race and trying to find Cup drivers.

Doesn’t matter if it’s always been done. I hate that excuse with everything, things change. To me it’s boring, it isn’t like a big deal when they win because they should win. They are top level talent.

US Open golf was on if you’re bored. And it does matter, I assume many of these teams make more money from sponsors if a Cup driver runs the race. Are you against teams and owners trying to make money so they can improve their operations? Just because things change, doesn’t mean it’s for the better. As a fan I never bought Xfinity or Busch tickets because I was excited to see “Young driver X with potential” I went to see Harvick, Busch and whatever Cup driver was racing that Saturday. I want to see the best competing at all times. Cup, Busch, Trucks didn’t matter to me. Now I’m not advocating Cup drivers to run full seasons in lower series but 5-10 races won’t hurt anyone

The fact that people buy tickets for Xfinity races solely to see Cup drivers and to ignore the up and comers tells me that this series has completely failed.

I don’t like golf.

But no it doesn’t matter. Things change after being the same way for many years. Think if a lot of big moments in history didn’t happen because “well this is how it’s always been. So no need for change.” But good for you, good that’s why you went. It’s why I don’t go. I’m not gonna waste money to watch a damn Cup driver win a race.

I’m not trying to change the way you think or even care to, that’s just why I went and why I would watch Xfinity, plus I do like to get a glimpse of the young guns. Sam Mayer is racing for JRM the rest of the year, I will tune in and see how that goes.

But what if those fans can only afford an Xfinity race and that’s the only way to see their favorite Cup driver? Oh and by the way their kids who they brought to the race end end up becoming a fan of those young up and comes?

Fair point but I don't go to AHL games expecting to see NHL stars on the ice. I hear you on that, but that shouldn't be the primary driver of the series to serve as a discount version of the A main.

I’m not familiar with how the ladder is to get to the NHL. But I wouldn’t call the Xfinity series a failure....Kyle is the only Cup driver that has won an Xfinity race in 2021. The rest of the races have been won by regulars or a part time of that series. I don’t get the angst here

I mean, who cares? There's nothing impressive about a two time cup Champion prioritizing winning Xfinity races.

Kyle is like LeBron, cares too much about his statistical legacy. This is the guy who was concerned about his winning percentage in cup, and stated that he wants to get his average wins up after winning once last year.

I don't think Gordon, Dale, DW, Jimmie or Cale ever thought like that.

Every single driver above Kyle on the all time win list (legit, all of them) have superior winning percentages that he will never get to.

Kyle running Xfinity is him trying to boost his legacy to join the "best ever" convo because he's said that's what he wants. Athletes who care that much about their legacy just seem insecure.

I know you're not, my original reply to you was just me saying that it doesn't matter if it's Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, etc. I don't like it. It has nothing to do with it being Kyle Busch. You wanted to add on the stuff about why you went, and I said its why I don't go. You can enjoy it all you want, that's fine.

The Truck race last night was different tho, because Ryan's only in his 3rd full year of Cup, isn't what you'd call a top guy, and might not even get to race this full season, and might not have a Cup ride next year either.

But with your logic he’s a Cup driver. So therefore shouldn’t you be upset he won last night? I thought the board was against Cup drivers racing in lower series.
