Cup RACE thread --- Kansas

Conspiracy theory that they are cheating?

I dont think there's a Conspiracy that they are cheating. "Cheated up" is obvious slang. The 45 has figured something out that other teams havent / NASCAR hasnt yet, and that's how it goes. Stop projecting. You read way too much into my comment
I think they are making more horsepower than everybody else. Pretty evident when they are on the straights and I am watching the timer and they gain a tenth or more. That's assuming the aero numbers are similar.

Well look if you didn't mean they are cheating, that's my bad. It's just all I see everywhere every time they win. So that's why it came off that way to me. So I do apologize for misunderstanding.

All good man. Its been a year winless drought, so, sucks to see.

Consider this the same as "that was a flop!!!" "He's a foul baiter!"

It's not cheating if Nascar allows it. But when almost every yota was at the front all day at a horsepower track? Something is up.

The Jimmie and Chad days, finding holes in the rulebook to find an advantage until NASCAR closes it, or other teams bridge the gap.

I'm SURE the 45/Toyotas are working in the gray, but that's part of sports.

The best scores in the NBA know how to exploit officiating rules to gain foul drawing advantages resulting in scoring with greater efficiency. We call it cheating when it doesnt go our way, and skill when it does. Sports are about the gray area.

And when it hurts my team? How boring and disengaging for me to chose be grounded.

I have no idea what you are talking about. The Jimmie and Chad days of doing what they did are long gone and most of it was preparing a car very well. Stick n ball B.S. WTF?

This is just right on brand.

Success in sports is about finding the gray areas. Racing is a sport. Got it?

I'm at calorie deficit here but....

Cheated up? Nobody lines up the high line better than Reddick at this point in the series not even Larson, and that's exactly what he did here which made it seem like he was in a artemis II rocketship. Tyler did the same thing to Blaney at Homestead, was he cheated up then? Larson won stage 2 was he at a fast car deficit then?

It's a combo, they hit on something and have very fast Toyota's and Reddick is just on another level this year. 5 wins in 9 races, I am already cringing at the inevitable points reset coming down the line for him....

During the race I was telling my wife it seems strange we have the word Toyota shoved in our faces constantly during a race on the screen and by the guys in the booth mainly Boyer. Rarely the words Ford or Chevrolet in comparison. Why is there a "Toyota cut-away car" and no other brand? Meanwhile they are basically dominating the racing. Hmm.........

Nah. If they're this good for 26 races, then they're good enough to win it all. If they don't, then they're beat.

Jeff Gordon's 2007 Chase wasnt a step down from the first 26 races, it also would have been good enough to win the chase any other year. He got beat.

Five minute yota commercial when they announce this part of the commercial free part of the race sponsored by Toyota lol. All they need is a huge banner at the top of the screen lol. Boyer owns a Toyota dealership back in Kansas lol. Believe me I've thought the same thing.

Exactly, although I didn't know that about Boyer. No wonder.......lol. But it makes you wonder the amount of $$$ Nascar is recieving from them and if there are any "favors" granted. I'm not usually a conspiracy nut, but this is starting to look a little suspicious. <_<

It's impossible not to IMO. 23XI wins the lawsuit, Toyota promotes more by far at the track and on TV compared to the other two brands. Big signs, billboards everywhere. But like you say who knows if special favors are happening. But one thing is for certain. Toyota has an advantage over the field and there isn't any parity happening which Nascar says it is all about.

I remember a point in the race where 7 of the top 8 were all Gibbs and 23X1 cars. Larson was the only one that could remotely run with them.

That was the whole race for the most part. Big advantage and I was waiting for Kansas. The small tracks were one thing, but when they got to a high horsepower aero track it was really obvious the advantage the yotas have over the field. When only one car, Larson had speed in the field to keep somewhat up, something is up.

This is pretty telling right here.

I don't think they're cheating. Reddick has always been a very talented driver. He won races for RCR, that tells you a lot about his talent.

His dominance is a case of a driver who is in the upper echelon when it comes to pure driving ability.
Others will point out that it isn't just Reddick, that Toyotas have won eight of nine races.

Correlation isn't causation.

Who says they are cheating? As I think you know, the car plays more of a part in winning races than the driver does. Yeah the driver is important, very much so, but people are seeing plainly that the yotas have an advantage, Some of the comments from Nascar's twitter. Some are all over the place saying the race was rigged, but many fans are seeing something fishy. I was wondering what a large track would show. The yotas advantage didn't show up as much on the smaller tracks but it was there.

I've watched the replay a few times. I don't see anything that makes me think Reddick's car was cheated up.

I'd like to see the whole video of the 51 spin all by himself with less than three laps to go, since Fox didn't show it.
