Starts off with ESPN claiming the Brickyard 400 is bigger than Daytona

They're having the same debate on SPEED. It then turned into Daytona 500v. Indy 500.

I really hate when a different network takes over and it's NASCAR 101 all over again. I really don't want to hear the cheese grader analogy again either.

why on earth would the 5 pit running 3rd with 24 laps left?

edit- they hoped more would come with them. makes sense. but i think it might have been a 3 car race there in the end had they not. but the 20 was still the tops.

seems like that DEI-RCR engine program is'nt doing to well for DEI

Stewart took a cheap shot.

Stewart slammed Harvick into the wall. He complains when Johnson does it.

Andy, you so remind me of many of our local racing fans. You have loyalty to only one thing and that is that things go your way or they are cheapened. Maybe one day you will mature enough to know what racing is all about.

Congratulations Tony! Glad an Indiana boy won, even if it wasn't Jeff. :) Congratulations on #3, Jeff!!!

Just thought I'd add that I like this board better than the Gordon Online one just for the reason that most everyone congratulates the winner and doesn't do a lot of slamming on other drivers. I'm almost afraid to post on the other board because they'll be calling guys cry babies who I just happen to like in addition to Jeff. I enjoyed watching Tony and his crew climb the fence and kiss the bricks. They deserved it. I might be new at this, but I also like to see good racing.

I understand what you're getting at Andy. There were two sets of contact- and Tony definititely got into Harvick when he initiated the pass. I think that's why Harvick returned the favor there when Kevin tried the cross-over.

That's just racing. Sure, maybe somebody like Jeff Burton wouldn't have done it that way. And yeah, Tony might have complained had the shoe been on the other foot ... but they're not all robots. They're individuals with different personalities. That wasn't a cheap shot, though IMO. People race Tony like he races them- perhaps why he has a lot of on-track incidents. But still at the end of the day, all of that is still just racin'.

Harvick (in paraphrase): He's the first person to complain about people not giving him room on the racetrack and he's the first to take it away.

We do have the anti-fan here, but we do it in a joking respectful way. Very little real slamming of the drivers or each other. I think it's because for the most part we have respect for one another. If we didn't joke around about it and agreed with everything, well............this would be a dull board. LOL

I typically like Tony, but this year, he's just been totally different.

Oh sure!!! I've made my jokes at Tony about Hamlin backing into him, etc. It would be dull. I like good natured jabbing, just not when it gets nasty, like throwing cans on the track.

Anyway, I'm just giving you all props for being the best bunch of posters I've run into on the race boards. :beerbang: :beerbang: :beerbang: :beerbang: :D

You'll find here mostly mature adults that while they have their favorites and will banter back and forth about so and so, most of the time, it's in jest. However, now and then we will have someone who gets carried away with their negative/hatred of a driver. When that happens, just ignor them and sooner or later, they will either change or go away. But we always like to have a good spirited debate as to whether one guy did this to another or what their tactics are like. :)

Just like Harvick magically shrunk up the wall and waved a wand, making Tony smash into him. :D

I just got on here for this evening and I don't know if anyone has brought it up or not but did anyone hear Tony's comment after the race?

This race is for the fans up there that pull for me every week and have to take the BULL-S**T from everyone else.

Remember what Nascar did to Dale Jr for saying S**T at Dega in the winner's circle? Wonder if Tony will get fined.

Also did anyone hear what he said just before catching Harvick? Here kitty-kitty. Now I thought that was funny even if it was Stewart.

Yeah, we heard it and my wife immediately said, I wonder if they will fine hin like they did jr.

They won't fine him. He's Tony Stewart, there's always a reasonable excuse for it.

Kind of like when Harvick moved the walls, making the track narrower and then slammed himself into the wall using Tony's help.

As far as the incident goes, Tony has someone else write his scripts for him. So, he didn't say that because he wanted to, he said it becauser God made those words come out of his mouth, whereas Junyer can control what comes out of his mouth on his own free will.

OK here is my opinion. I will probably get slammed by the Tony fans but here goes anyway. When Jr said "the word" on TV he was excited and just let it slip. Tony looked directly at the camera and carefully chose his words. Sort of like it was a challenge to Nascar. Will Nascar do anything about it? I don't know. Should they? Yes.

I liked it. Big deal. Tony said it on purpose. He doesn't care, he's said it before; he's got plenty of money set aside for fines. It sure beats being censored.

They took points from Jr also. Has he got plenty of them set aside for fines?
