Haven't seen anyone start this thread yet, so I figured I would.

I'll give the race a 7. I enjoyed it. Some laps with not much going on, but some laps that were pretty interesting. For the most part what I expected for a cookie-cutter, except the finishing laps were pretty intense between Kasey and Kenseth.

Green flag passes for the lead are a good thing. I got to see most of it and I liked what I saw of it. I would have liked to have seen Kahne take it in the end via a last lap pass but Happy Birthday to Matt. That's a cool way to celebrate. Can't wait to see how this new car works out. It looked good today IMO.

6 good action towards the front. I spent most of my day fixed on midpack.. It's probably lower than it deserves but... 6

Great racing and lots of passing all day long. Some pit strategies worked out, some didn't.
I was on every top 5 frequency for the last few laps, Matt Kenseth drove his ass off. Kasey did everything he could but came up short.
It was a 9 in person.

Safe travels home BF.

Amazing how that didn't translate at all on TV

Pretty average race for me. Got a chuckle from Mikey in the booth trying to pronounce strategic, and the racing towards the end was good between the #20 and #5.
But overall, for me, not much from this race will stand out for me after the end of the season. Well, other than Kenseth winning on his birthday, I guess.

I think it was pretty good. Cup cars didn't get proper set up time, so it was pretty messed up until a couple of pit stops. The racing was good. I am not a Kahne fan, because of just what happened today. He had the race won, fastest car all day by far. Glad to see nobody is running away with the points. Looks like Matt is happy to get away from the grouch Rousch and break the ice at Gibbs.

I'll give it an 8. There were some lulls at certain points in the race, but that's to be expected at any mile-and-a-half. Great finish, and a much better race overall than Daytona or Phoenix.

I know JJ is a great driver, but when he gets interviewed he sounds like an office boy and not a race car driver. Like he is going over the profit loss statement. He's a nice guy, but damn

What would you prefer he say and do?

I'd say an 8 but to me the racing has never been spectacular at that track so it was about what I expected. If it was up to me I'd give the date to another track and move the banquet back to New York but that'll never happen.

I don't expect anything different from a 5 time champ in the Brian France Era.

I really enjoyed this race. The races are so much better when you DVR them and fast forward the commercials and bs during the cautions. I think some of you need to try that and you might enjoy the racing more.

6. Never expect much from a 1.5 unless its Darlington. Today's race was better than usual though.

8 be a 10 if kasey could get back by kenseth

I'm with you there. I have no patience for commercials anymore. The last sporting event I watched even close to live was the Super Bowl. There is so much continuity without all of the interuptions.

8

That was easily more enjoyable than either Daytona or Phoenix. Much more passing, set-up and overall pit strategy too. It was kind of nice to see that kind of ending too. I like Matt Kenseth so I'm ok with him winning, but I was really pulling for Kahne to pass him (being a Hendrick driver and all).

8 . I liked it . I like racing period. I remember watching it when Petty or Pearson would lap most of the field. loved it then love it now.(I would suggest you listen to mrn and mute your TV.) I ain't gonna sit around and bitch about people passing.:)

I think JJ was very frustrated by the bottom line and was biting his tongue.

Ahhh, Grasshopper, the choices are too numerous to list.

I'll go with a 7. Kahne putting so many cars a lap down early in the race hampered it some. Still, some pretty good racing when the TV cameras actually showed it.

There is a certain spoiled baby quality to this guy that kind of gets under my skin. And it has nothing to do with his domination for 5 years. But sh_t rolls downhill and I seriously think the Whinedricks clan are all trained to squeal and squeal, cause the squeaky wheel gets the grease and it becomes an advantage. Last year we got to witness how much Rick can squeal and whine, look how far he took it. He wasn't happy last year til he got his way and made not only NASCAR look like fools, but the second level of the appeal process. I was totally embarrassed for him,.but now I am just disgusted in him.

+1...exactly, my most enjoyable Nascar Sundays are when I start watching 60 - 90 minutes after the start and do exactly that...Fox wears you out with their endless amount of commercials (mostly Viagra) and having two Waltrips yapping doesnt help...

I give the race a 7

I'd give it an 8. Was at the track, the second race I've seen live. First real race was at Bristol this past August. I was also at Charlotte for the All-star race a few years ago. We took a bus to the track yesterday, and was actually able to make it back to our hotel in time to catch our flight to Alaska.

I thought there was good racing all over the track, especially mid pack. I was sitting right in the middle of 3 and 4, so you could tell who was loose coming off of four. For the first long green run, that was a lot of cars sliding off that corner. Kahne was the class of the field all day. His best chance to pass was with about ten to go. Seems he used those right sides up getting to Matt. Matt also had a good drive hitting his marks and not giving Casey the chance to pass.

Was also at the NWS race on Saturday on a sponsorship visit for the Ty Dillon 33. Will post some pictures of that this week. Was by far the coolest NASCAR experience I could have dreamed up.
