As I asked in the other thread, when did this change? Kyle Petty with only one ARCA race under his belt and made his Cup debut at Talladega , the pole speed was 193 mph and the cars handled nowhere near as good as they do now, the fastest pole for the United Rentals 250 at Talladega is...

I just want to know when things changed? Nascar has always had drivers with zero experience, 3 off the top of my head, Kenny Wallace, no diving experience borrowed a Bush car from Sr. ran one race and then ran the whole season the next year with zero experience, Steve Kinsner, no stock car...

What ouch? Nascar and pro motor sports in general have always been open to anyone with money, I remember arguments against pro/am teams in imsa, nothing different here, it's what makes motor sports so awesome compared to other pro sports, when I was younger and if I had the money, I could do that.

You can't turn em loose anymore, with today's aero and engine building skills, they would be around 250mph, a wreck at that speed... Don't have the answer but there will never be "let em race" at the super speedways.
