Kevin Lee said on the radio this evening that Penske have had the wheels programmed not to display green LED lights when using P2P - legally or illegally - for a little bit now, so that other teams can’t see on the live broadcast and tell their drivers. But the button pushes are suspicious.

It wasn’t discovered until morning warmup at Long Beach. Race control hadn’t yet turned on P2P in the first ten minutes or so yet the Penske cars were shown activating it.

It’s attributed to using the same software used during the hybrid testing so it wouldn’t have been in the car last year.

Not a good look for Josef or Scottie really. They know it’s not supposed to be available then.

Must’ve monkeyed around with the ECU. The 2 and the 3 got caught using it on starts and restarts.

Interesting. Tom Blomqvist will be at Road America for IndyCar on Le Mans test day, and as a Gold-rated driver he wouldn’t have the same dispensation to miss it as Dixon and Palou do. Would be a huge opportunity for Drugo; God knows his F1 ambitions aren’t going anywhere at Aston.
