I do think that in the suggested scenario, drivers would be extra motivated to beat SVG at road courses. Regulars have been getting better and better at RCs these past few years. I wouldn't have a problem with SVG winning a title under those circumstances. RCs are here to stay, and I like it.

There would have to be a rule that states that you need to be a full-timer to qualify for the championship. If you're the winningest driver in Cup, I can't see the driver being that low in the standings.

This suggestion by @aunty dive was posted a few months ago on the "Enough is enough full season points championship" thread. I don't know if NASCAR would ever consider doing it, but I think it makes sense.

The Chase for the Cup was better received than the current format. I’m curious to see what system NASCAR decides to go with.

The most impressive thing about Hamlin is that he's in his mid 40's. It could be argued that 2025 was one of, if not his best season. His longevity is amazing.

My condolences to the Hamlin family. Hoping his mom makes a full recovery. Awful month for the NASCAR community. Hamlin was very close with his dad.

That #14 is very interesting. There were rumors about Smoke coming back. I'm thinking he might go full-time in the Trucks? That'd be a crazy turn of events.
