It's a shame seeing another SoCal track die. I never went to Autoclub but as a kid I had multiple trips to Riverside and Ontario. Hope they build the short track but I doubt it- land is just too damn valuable.
And the Liberty University connection is why I just cannot get behind Byron or the 24 car(I was a big J.G. fan), Jerry Falwell was a despicable human being and the apple sure didn't fall far. I am old enough to remember his "Moral Majority" in the 80's- absolutely horrible people.
Picked up a Rav4 end of July. Love it. Still hurts a little to have traded in my 06 Tundra- but did have 260k miles and the drive train was strong but lots of little things kept coming up. And getting more than twice the gas mileage does not suck. Only problem so far is I can't find the slot...
I think Byron or Truex. I'm a Larson fan but just too inconsistent. I'd be ok with Truex, want to be ok with Byron(former Gordon fan) but just can't be ok with the Liberty university connection.
There's a couple articles floating around that are saying 23XI bought out Reddicks contract from Childress so that would make sense to do that if Kurt is calling it a career
Yes that was it. They didn't have a shot of the flip at first though before they went to talk to him- poor guy was just trying to catch his breath! Thanks for remembering it better than me LOL!
Years ago- I'm thinking early 90s- I was watching a race( maybe Atlanta) and Neil Bonnet had an in car camera. This was maybe a year or two before he died. Watching his in car view live you could tell a wreck was happening and then I thought oh s**t he just flipped! Announcers(Ned Jarret? And ?)...
I think you kinda proved my point there Rev. There is only 2 real passing zones, and even you say one might not work for stock cars. Personally I would like more than 1 or 2 passing zones on a road course. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for my days of being a wee lad camping in the infield of...
It's definitely more than a decent track for sports cars and some of the other series. I just don't think it works for heavy stock cars. But then again I'm also of the opinion that I don't think a street course would work for heavy stock cars either. I could get proven wrong on both, would love...
I would like to see them try it in July, August, or September. September is still usually a pretty good month for staying dry. Although it is Oregon so there's no guarantee at any time hahaha!
Glad you had a good time Rev. Of course rain doesn't affect attendance here- it's Oregon! If we don't do things in the rain- then we don't do things! About the track- I live in Sandy about an hour east of the track and have lived in the Portland area since'89 and I'm not a fan of the track. I...
Not sure slicks is a good idea. I am about 30 to 35 miles east of the track and it's raining pretty hard at my house. I know typically the rain goes west to east but this time of year it can be weird here and go north to south so it's hard to say if the rains over or not. I hope they made the...
