Should we winter test at Daytona again?

Yes. I used to watch those tests minute for minute. No joke. I love that stuff.
 
I used to watch Dayton Speedweeks testing or whatever it was called, but like what has already been said, it is not really something that is needed these days.
 
NASCAR fans want to see the drivers in action regardless. Its kinda like preseason for NASCAR. It would be fun I think

Not only do I not care, it's not my job to care.

I know I spend my measly hundreds of dollars in merchandise and tickets every year so it's the least they could do right? :D

Unless NASCAR made it mandatory I don't see why teams would go. I remember contemplating going back in 2013 to see the Gen-6 cars for the first time. In my opinion, that test was the nail in the coffin for Preseason Thunder. There was a ton of single-car running going on on Thursday, then on Friday NASCAR encourages the teams to draft in packs. There's a big wreck and a bunch of teams pack up and go home with a day and a half left. It sucked for the teams and it sucked for the fans.

We already have plenty of practice sessions at plate weekends where teams go out and run only single-car runs or they just keep it parked in the garage entirely. Add in all of the extra sessions during Speedweeks (there are maybe eight practice sessions, two Clash practices, the Duel) that any sort of marginal benefit you get out of going there in January probably doesn't outweigh what it would cost if you go down there and wad everything up. They probably learn just as much doing simulations back at home and it costs a lot less. It just wouldn't make any sense to do it again and I doubt NASCAR is going to make the teams do it.
 
I watched it on web cams. I would again just to hear the cars on the track for the first time of the season.

I have spent just about every Wed, Fri, and Sat night slot car racing to get through the off season.:)
 
yes Winter Heat was exciting, It's sad some California short tracks are now parking lots
 
I enjoyed the testing, went and watched a few times, but, if they do bring it back fine, if they do not bring it back fine. It is their money so as far as I am concerned if NASCAR allows it and they want to spend it on testing, let them.

I also enjoyed the winter heat series with the start up of the truck series.

Way cool, Back when I was 132, 14 and 15 I raced slots a lot. They were big cars on custom tracks, big being, about a 10" wheel base, mine was a GT40. There was a 1/8 mile indoor slot mile track in Lakeland Florida that we got to go to once in a great while.

What size slots do you run?

1/24th scale. I race mostly drag racing any more.
 
how bouta 24hrs of na$car rc race in early jan. one team car only, small teams can combine. 3 classes on track at once, the cup xfnity and trucks.

Speedweeks 2013 was a mess, If I am remembering correctly, Carl wrecked something like five race cars , and there was a shortage of Gen6 body parts , I recall FS1 interviewing someone from GM about the issue .

Maybe not even 24 hours..... Maybe something more like 2.4 hours or so..... Something that today's growing ADD fan-base can handle. If 2.4 hours turns out to be too long, perhaps that can shorten it down to 24 minutes. :D
