Circuit of the Americas would like a NASCAR race

Sebring.

Florida should be spoiled more with racing.

Seriously though, Road America should be a no brainer, the Indy GP track would be good, Road Atlanta, Sebring, Portland, and I mean its just the fact that Austin is specifically meant for F1 cars.

Its not that bad, its just the fact that its a prototypical Tilke design. Honestly, its the second sector that kills it for me at the track. The first and third sectors are fine.

"Max Verstappen: I drove the track for the first time during the Friday practice session in 2014, which was great as COTA is such a fun track to drive."

"Felipe Massa: COTA is a fantastic track where I have some great memories. Out of all the new tracks COTA definitely has the best layout. The long straights, the high speed sectors and the low speed sectors are just incredible."

Definitely at least half a dozen others I'd like to see before COTA. That place has never wowed me. Shiny and pretty, but the next memorable race I see there will be the first. The two times it rained during F1 and WEC the past couple of years were more interesting but you can't count on that sort of thing.

If there's any F1-caliber venue that should get a look for Cup it should be Montreal again.

Montreal suits a stock car very well, perfect length and its much more technical and about one of the hardest tracks on brakes because of the braking zones.

I would love to see NASCAR there or just make a triple-header at Mosport, this website need to be in charge of scheduling.

Mosport hasn't disappointed yet with Truck. Crowd looks big every year too.

Not gonna happen, Eddie Gossage will throw a **** fit, plus nobody wants to lose a race date. Oh yeah and Eddie claims Texas motor speedway has some kind of non-compete agreement with Indy car and NASCAR where they can't host a race within a certain distance

I like the COAs, but I do wish they would plant some grass. Or do something a little more remarkable looking for some contrast.

One wonders if either of you have seen the place.
I have not. I use to think it would be cool to see
F1 there. I have done Montreal and Indy F1. But all the
big run off Tilke Tarmac areas has produced a bland
no risk vs reward product for me. I am glad its there.
Just not my cup of tea. These days , that kind of
trip would blow 3/4's of my annual racing budget.
Not missing that for that.

One thing I do like about COTA is its good for wet racing
as I don't like watching cars do the long turf slide into
tire barriers. T1 start is also fun.

I think the Cup cars would be a good fit at COTA.

Saw some vintage versions race there in the hands of their amateur owners.

Anybody who thinks NASCAR is going to add a completely new track before 2025 is nuts. If they want to add another RC to the Cup series, they'll either use an existing oval's infield or use a track that already has an X or Truck race. I'd love to see them run Canadian MoSports; Ron Fellows runs a nice little place and it would give the series a small measure of international appeal.

Lewis Hamilton would disagree with you on that. Are you the owner of he other road course in Austin, Tx.?

I was talking to College Golfer about his comment about the F1 track in Austin he said it was a garbage track.

I'd like to see them run COTA backwards. Downhill start into a hairpin corner. That's where we would find out who has the brass.

From my understanding, this is pretty standard. I've got a feeling the current sanction agreements will be thrown out when they expire and totally redone. The schedule is stale and NASCAR knows it.

There are other RC's I would like to see added before COTA.

I would like to see how the Camping World Trucks tear up that track first...

Outside of the the track not being that great, TMS will never allow another track so close to them compete with them.

If so it would just be smarter for NASCAR to let the current ownership fail and just buy the track for themselves.
Ah, but 'NASCAR' doesn't own tracks.

The current track contracts are up in a few years. -IF- ISC owns COTA by then (which I doubt), TMS' exclusivity won't be worth a plate of Texas beans.

It will be interesting to see if Monster is still with us in a few years and how agitated the networks are as I think those 2 things will go a long way in determining schedule length and tracks raced at. My guess is that there will be significant changes when possible, especially with June, July and August, as that 3 month period could be called the dog days. JMO

I don't understand the COTA hate. It is a gorgeous track and definitely in the top 3 or 4 road courses in the country I would say.

I don't know that it's such a bad course but there's definitely a quite a few other road courses I'd rather have over it.

Without including the two already on the cup schedule, my short list is:

-Mid-Ohio
-Road America(though the course length will be an issue, 5 minute caution laps suck)
-Montreal

COTA never crosses my mind because of TMS, but I would love to see NASCAR race there.
