Hendrick cars are only gonna display the Monster Energy logo where required.

"When our cars are at the track, they'll have the Monster logo on the windshield and on the side of the car and guys will have it on their uniform," Hendrick said at Daytona International Speedway.

So, what's Monster Energy think?

"They've got a good sponsor they need to take care of. We don't have any problem with Mr. Hendrick or his team or his drivers. We think they're great."

Wow, a sponsor that gets it.

I thought this was a little bit of a reach by HMS when I first heard of it. I could understand if they were specifically sponsored by Mtn Dew Kickstart or whatever other energy drink they make, but they've always just strictly represented the soda. I guess it's one in the same but it didn't seem like a big deal to me.

This new Monster Mutant is a soda. I've had the red one but not the Mtn. Dew like one.

The only time I reach for an energy drink is when I'm on a long drive. When I do, it's for a 5-Hour. I don't need to drink 12+ oz's of anything if I expect to make time on the highway. Fuel stops are my norm, not restroom stops.

Monster needs to make something that competes with the lil 5 hr energy bottle

Ironically Hendrick is probably causing more media presence for monster than Dew by doing this.

I guess I am the odd man out, I have never had an Energy Drink of any kind and do not plan on trying one, no need to. When I travel, and I travel a lot, I have a large ice water with me and sip on during the hours of driving.

I have never had an energy drink either as I drink Dunkin Donuts Coffee or other local coffee house blends. The only time I drink soda is once in a while from a fountain at a restaurant. Primarily it is lots of water and some coffee.

I've never had one either.

I have enough bad habits.

Okay, I've seen this story referenced in a couple of places, and I don't understand what's noteworthy about it. Could someone explain when Hendrick is NOT displaying the Monster decals? I assume we're talking about on the cars, since the logo is embroidered on their fire suits. What am I missing here? Do Dew and Monster consider themselves as competitors?

Small cans of Mountain Dew were given out at Richmond when the stuff was on the 11 car.

I haven’t been thirsty enough to drink one, or anything similar, since.

I used to live on the stuff in the '80s and '90s, then wonder why I couldn't get to sleep. I assumed since it wasn't brown, it wasn't caffeinated. Silly me.

My oldest, 36, keeps a bottle with her. Her husband does the same with Dr. Pepper.

I don't want either of those beverages. Been drinkin' coffee since about 0630. I'll sleep like a rock.

Don't like coffee in particular or hot beverages in general. Diet Decaf Pepsi, 'cause my co-workers say I'm wired enough as it is. :D

This has been my go to recently. Tastes good and gets the job done.

No PepsiCo products. The Hendrick connection.

I know they don't know or give a crap, but I do.

They will only be displaying the Monster logo when it is required to by NASCAR which is pretty much while it's at the track. It says that on their website they still have driver names on the front of the car instead of the Monster logos.

Monster has a new product that they call a super soda and it very similar to Mtn. Dew and Mtn. Dew Code Red so Mtn. Dew might have a problem with displaying the competition's logo so they won't display it unless it's absolutely required. Like @Fordracing7 said I think it's done more for Monster Mutant awareness than anything as a lot of people didn't even know it was a thing.

I didn't know about it, but I don't know about any of Monster's individual products. Right or wrong, I have the impression the caffeine content is more than I want.

I've never had any of the energy drinks either..... just straight up black coffee is good enough for me. A lot of the young guys I work with come in with 2 or 3 of 'em every morning. Looksa pretty expensive to me.... I get a large thermos of coffee filled every morning for $1.05......
