Trying to go to Bristol on a college budget... I see that the Yarborough section down low is the lowest price. But has anyone sat in that section? I am worried about being able to see the whole track while possibly being down low like that. Haven't been to Bristol since I was a real whipper snapper

You can see the whole track from that section. I've sat there many a times across from the start/finish line.

Thanks. That's encouraging! If anyone else has any tips please share

Day race or night race? If it's the night race, Yarborough, Petty, and the turn 3 end of Waltrip are in the shade most of the day. You'll start the race about 15 degrees cooler than the people on the front stretch or in Kulwicki.

You could probably hold out and find some below face value around the area the weekend of the race. With no demand, they're easy to find and at buyers' prices.

Keep checking on line to see what seats are still available. If there are plenty of cheap ones left a couple of days before the race, I'd go with MRM's approach. If you can't score discounted ones when you get there, you'll know you can still pick them up at the box office.

Yeah with the day race you're in no danger of a sellout. I'd wait.

Thanks guys. Has anyone sat down low in the Kulwicki section before? My main concern would be being able to see the whole track.

In 2015 I went to the spring race and regardless of what ticket you bought you could pretty much sit anywhere. If I was going on a "college budget" I would get the cheapest ticket possible, then upgrade once you are in the stands. There are plenty of empty seats at Bristol and almost every one of them gives you a great view of the track.

Bring or buy ear plugs!

Enjoy the race and be amazed at how many cars can fit in such a small space. :) Bristol is a real fun place to watch a race.

EDIT: Consider sunscreen as well. At the race in Spring 2012, I actually got a mild sunburn.

Something I thought I'd never read, "plenty of empty seats at Bristol" ....the track is on my racing bucket list. For some strange reason I always preferred the spring day race over the night race. If I do attend I have no idea where to fly to get there from Chicago

I'll second the ear plugs suggestion. Bristol was by far the loudest track I've ever been to.

Asheville, NC.and take I-26W, or Knoxville, TN and take I-81N.

Note that I-26 is a roller-coaster for 10 miles either side of the NC / TN border. It's no problem at all in the spring, but coming back to Asheville on I-26E after the night race can be ... interesting.

Tri-Cities airport is close to the track Delta, Allegiant and American fly there.

Bring ear plugs. ;)
