Goodyear continues examination of Kyle Busch’s Daytona 500 tires

Yea that setup was prob the reason.. yea I hope by Charlotte too!! I'll be at start finish line again .. but I'm scared to death it might be the 78 show again , it really isn't any passing at Charlotte

Charlotte will be a crucial race for JGR/FRR. Doug Rice from PRN reported that updates should be coming from TRD by Kansas or Charlotte....He wasn't specific if this was exclusively engine and/or chassis--but I would think that it would be a fair bet that they are working on both. I will be watching closely. It's going to be interesting.

KYLE BUSCH, DRIVER OF THE NO. 18 M&M’S TOYOTA CAMRY FOR JOE GIBBS RACING:

“Our M&M’S Toyota Camry was the fastest one out there those last two runs – picking cars off and driving from the back to the front after we lost our track position the first time. We had our issues and we were trying to march our way back up towards the front. We thought we were doing a good job of that and trying to be conservative with the tires because obviously they can’t make it through a full distance for us for some reason. I don’t know. I don’t know if it’s fundamentally wrong what we’re doing, but it seems like all the rest of our JGR cars were fine.”
Only going by what I see posted above, it reads like nothing more than frustration with the crew as to why they can't get this right.

Kyle is getting a heaping helping of humility this year so far. Nascar has cut him out of the action in the Xfinity, and I know he would have been racing at Xfinity Bristol, but to add insult to injury, it was a "Dash for Cash" race, 5 years or less cuppers only. Sitting on the sidelines and watching Jones take the checkered, he couldn't be too happy about that. His cup team and JGR in general are struggling compared to everybody else, and Kyle never has been gracious in defeat. Considering all that, I thought Kyle did really well with his interview. If I ever hear him say the P.C. statement "Ah we were a little off, we'll get them next week", I'll know it is time for him to hang it up, either that or coach Gibbs got him in for a frontal lobotomy during the off season.

How the hell are ya @StandOnIt?! Good to hear from you! Rough year for sure, but honestly, this is part of what I love about this sport. Now, the drive to get the cars back to the top! TRD stuff. Fascinates the **** out of me!!!!! Love it!!!!

Cant figure out why his tires arent holding air? Sounds like he's pointing fingers again. Bobby LaBonte in the nascar after race show, didnt want to lay blame but suggested the 18's set-up caused 2 not 1 RF tires to explode. I didnt watch the whole race but I think he was the only car to lose a right front in that manner. His interview while not horrible, he still sez it's everybody's fault but his.The other 5 jibbs cars were fast and didnt blow a tire, hmmm.
So, damn you goodyear, you failed me again! lol

Kyle Busch is the type of driver that wants to be able to drive his car how and where he wants. Doesn't care what goes into it engineering wise. Just gimmie something that won't break. Anytime something gets in the way of that there will be hell to pay.

Preserving your car, engine and tires are not nearly as critical as they were in the old days but there is still something to be said for it. Kyle is a racer and wants to lead every lap which is admirable but also impossible and he is not content with taking a 10th place car and finishing 5th as he wants to take a 10th place car and win the the race. Some folks see that as passionate, competitive and a great quality to have but sometimes you have to take what the car and track give you and do your best while finishing the race.

My guess is that Kyle is getting frustrated as he didn't light it up during the second half of last year and hasn't won in 8-9 months. He never accepts that there is something he personally needs to change and thinks things should revolve around him and how he wants things to be. When you are winning it is great but when you are struggling...well.....not so much.

To me that's why Kyle will never truly be an all time great. He doesn't know how to finesse a car like JJ, Pearson etc.

I agree as it doesn't take any particular skill set to drive a car so hard you melt a bead or boil your brakes and wall it but it does take intelligence and patience to understand what your car wants to do and work within those confines to get a good finish.

That press release is not the Fox interview that aired on Race Hub, during which Kyle said he needs "tires that hold air" and claimed his car was "right on cambers and air pressures and everything else."

Thats the part heard," tires that hold air" so laying blame again? oh hell yeah. Of all the nascar drivers, he's the turd in the punch bowl.

I agree with this 100%....and I like it.

What about the part, "...I don't know if there is something fundamentally wrong with our car..."? I know. No fun.

About time bud. Hope you are well

Kyle drives the car the way it should drive instead of the way it does drive and is probably happier hitting the wall and having his day end than gutting it out and getting the best finish possible.

Hey whatz zup Clutch,Revman, everybody. all's well, and Kyle is being Kyle. haha

Goodyear may have to tone down the Kyle whippings. Lots of collateral damage tonight, Logano, Truax, Dillion etc...

Kyle has resorted to bending a lot of rules lately becase he is not winning and nascar is imposing penalties

Everything is great.
