Is it time to {please don't hate me!} have a rule on blocking like F1 and Indy car? Busch blocking Blaney was a prime example of why. He almost ran him off the track, not once but twice. I give Blaney a lot of credit as there's other drivers who would have given shrub a bump & run and put him in the wall.
I can see throwing a block but not running a guy almost off track or constantly changing lanes.

No rules, no race officials conducting investigations, no drive through penalties. And no drivers whining on the radio to call in David Hoots... the way they do about restarts. The drivers can handle it on the track. Blaney got by because he had the speed, and he had 10 laps to work with. He was smart not to spin the 18, because that would have meant another yellow flag and another restart. Blaney had more to lose than he had to gain by spinning the 18. He should do that next week to complete the message to Kyle Busch. JMO.

I agree.

What did shrub say after the race? and did blaney get angry at the block?

No more rules, drivers can handle this situation themselves. It only takes a one time message (take Kyle into the wall) and he will think twice.
I don't mind the blocking but I don't think a driver should go below the line to do it.
Besides Nascar already has a rule in place that would guarantee Kyle doesn't win the race with that move.

Blaney was sitting in victory lane, so no.

No need for rules on blocking. It'd be just another rule trying to judge intent. Something that is not possible. Let em block if the feel they need to. Eventually they will pay the price for doing so and that'll give us all something more to talk about.

Going below the line is legal at Pocono

You block a guy by taking his lane - that's not what Kyle did. Blaney had the lane and Kyle tried shoving him off the track.

Remember this race last year when Chase Elliott two-laned it on the front stretch and fought off Kenseth and Kyle going into 1? That was blocking. And do we all remember Kyle's radio transmission right after? Yeah, he didn't like it very much...

I really wouldn't want NASCAR stepping in at the moment. All that will do is cause us more controversial decisions where they show us inconsistencies with how they police such a "rule"...

I feel like the drivers need to be the ones who ultimately bring up a blocking subject to NASCAR if it continues to be a concern.

Kyboosh is an idiot. He didn't pit and knew he was a sitting duck. I'm surprised he didnt block the other 8 cars that got around him also. He is the only driver out there that would pull such a stupid move to that extent.

After he lost the lead, Busch didn't have the same motivation to block the cars that got around him.

Then again, after he lost the lead he mighta just gave up all together as he's been known to do at times.

At least he didn't park it.

When it happened yesterday and now with this discussion it reminded me of what happened with Kenseth and Joey 2 years ago. Most were really upset with Joey on that move and loved seeing him wrecked a few weeks later.

Fast forward to now, what is the difference??? Almost everyone on here is/was screaming for Blaney to dump him at that point. Would we have been ok with Kyle retaliating a few weeks later? My feeling is no...Bush is hated, Kenseth not so much. Just seems to be a double standard amongst the fans as to who can do it, when they can do it, and who they can do it too.

Wrong for Joey to dump Matt...ok for Matt to retaliate. Perfectly fine for Blaney to have dumped Kyle. (For the record, I would have been fine with it too). Thoughts?

I am all good with the blocking. Like others have said the drivers will police it themselves. You know Blaney will remember that next time he is racing Kyle. I just can't wait for someone to block the sh!t out of Kyle and for Kyle to bitch about it to the media.

can't wait? Logano and company blocked the sh!t out of him..now with Joey and Blaney he has Ford PTSD

I think all blocking is daft as you lead, follow or get out of the way.

When anyone is running you to the grass or out of bounds while
blocking , that is the green light for the chrome horn.

Hell no. No more asinine rules that NASCAR will arbitrarily police and instill community controversy depending on who is involved.

Let the drivers do their job. Blocking has been part of racing since the beginning. These guys being aggressive racing for the win is what we as fans should all want to see. No problem with what Kyle did yesterday. Just like I would've had no problem if Blaney punted him into the fence. You reep what you sew.

Actually this thread has been pretty much pro blocking.

Edit:. Also after looking back at the Logano incident I still fault Logano. Yes Matt blocked him on the front stretch, but Logano spun him in the corner where I think Matt was just trying to run his line. If Joey had just spun him at the exact point Matt blocked him I'd be okay with it, instead he did it later in the corner and tried to blame it on the blocking. Just like yesterday, if Ryan would have spun the 18 when he was blocking him on the front stretch then that should be acceptable. However if Blaney would have drove hard into turn 1 and laid the bumper to the 18 when the 18 wasn't blocking him then I don't think that works. Just my opinion.

Kyle is quite a seamstress when it comes to sewing.
