Rate The Race: Watkins Glen

Any race from now on Truex wins is getting no more than a 3...

Today's Glen... 2

Didn't see enough of it on tv to give it an honest rating but from what I saw the broadcast was awesome and the race was pretty good.

All I saw was the last 35 laps, so I rate those laps a 5.5. It was tense, but it's not racing when drivers are driving as slow as they can to save fuel. Letting drivers drive right past you isn't racing.

I am going with 7 , the fuel mileage race made up for the first part of the race.

It's hard to rate this race. The first two stages weren't too exciting. The fuel drama was exciting!, but as someone else pointed out, that's not necessarily racing.

Heck, I'll go with an 8. Nobody knew who would win until the final turn of the final lap!

7.5 race
Truex earned it.
9.9 broadcast. Would have been a 10 if Burton would have stopped talking in the post race after he ran out of things to say.

7 the stages make it much easier to keep up with who has pitted and who hasn't. Letard saying it doesn't matter, everybody will have to pit again in the last stage and then at least the top 4 didn't have to.

Good race. 7.5.

Downgraded for the top four being Toyotas. Somethin' fishy goin' on here.

8 .......... even liked the winner

Liked that the 18 salvaged a reasonable finish despite the problems

If Jeff Burton would shut up, 7 but the way it was; 4.

Why do you have such a hard-on for Truex? Because he might be having a good year and is winning ...... and whoever you are pulling for is sucking hind teat? Truex has taken that ride from Kurt Busch and done things that is unimaginable....

8

It started out looking like it was going to be a boring runaway by the 18 and probably would have been if Stupid had driven the 18 with at least half a brain. By the last 20 or so laps, it had turned into a pretty darn good race, and....I too like it when fuel strategy is important.

Also, the Glen is one of my most favorite tracks.

I don't get what is up with everyone bashing on Truex. The man hasn't won much in his career overall, tbh, and now it's just like with JJ and KB - everyone is jealous of his success. Give the man a break - this is a break he has been needing in his career for a while! You don't become a back-to-back Busch champion in your only full-time Busch seasons for nothing. True wheel-man. It makes me happy to see him winning so much after many frustrating, empty-handed years.

Today's Glen... 8...
because in fairness, even though my guy won, it was not quite like 2014 or 2012 or whatever exciting finish you may have in mind. However, Truex winning and Kes having to pit was a gift. :D

Edit: people have been mentioning the trackside reporting... YEAH, I LOVE IT TOO! ^_^

Truex is putting JGR prepared equipment in victory lane. The little team in Colorado isn't having to try as hard these days.

Truex is finally in a good team. Earnhardt Ganassi was average when he was with them. MWR was outstanding in 2012, and that was it for that team. His win at Sonoma was a feel-good win, but it didn't save the team. Yeah, I think Truex appreciates not having to try quite as hard these days, since you put it that way. ;)

It's all good. I'm not about to get ragged on for dissing a truex jr win. Go celebrate the win and let me rate this race a darn 2 in I want to... a 2 if I want to...

Dale Earnhardt jr rulz... there, that should bring me some back up in here for ragging on a truex win... what up JR NATION!! You peeps seen the car jr has at Homstead?!

I like Jr.'s Homestead car. He had a shocker of a race today, though, huh?

If this thread was about rating Jr.'s race, I'd give it a -1... and counting because he was so many laps down as a result.
