Rate The Race: Michigan 2

My rating: 5. One point deducted for NASCAR throwing a caution after Logano was already on pit road.

The race wasn't very interesting until the very end.

Just a reminder: This is a "rate the race" thread, not a "rate the last two laps" thread.

EDIT: Am I a week behind? Did everyone else watch next weekend's Bristol race? No spoilers, please!

It's rate the race. Not the winner.

The race flat out stunk. I'll give it a 3.

6 is what I have to go with as I didn't think the race was awful but nowhere near one for the ages.

Hopefully someone will be able to give a more technical breakdown of the race at some point and I wouldn't be surprised to hear what a difficult track MIS is for the drivers and some chat about corner speeds etc.

I was told by some members that you could include all sorts of things when rating the race such as how you were feeling, who you were with and other things I didn't think had anything to do with the race. Different strokes for different folks but it made no sense to me.

I watched the race without sound and I really enjoyed it that way as I don't want to hear about the playoffs, playoff implications and who needs to win. IDK if those were topics today and IDK if Burton or Letarte were squealing like school girls but I need a break from them. There were some drawbacks as I never heard what happened to BKez unless he dropped back in an attempt to prove his point that Toyota was sandbagging and I am not sure why the caution was thrown when the 22 was in the pits. I would prefer to listen with sound as I wasn't sure about fuel runs and who may have received penalties and it would be helpful if NBC showed how many seconds/laps cars were behind the leader constantly, IMO.

This is a rate the race thread, not asking for a dissertation. Goodness.

I'm going to 'Like' this post on general principles. It's still a free Internet, despite the bumper crop of web enforcers this topic seems to have attracted.

In fact, I'm going to 'Like' every damn post, regardless of the poster's reasoning, except the people who seem to think they started this discussion.

At the end of the day, it will always be subjective.

Fast, exciting race, with a fittingly exciting finish. I would say that I hated the way the last restart went... but what Larson pulled off was marvelous! He earned it, and now has three straight victories at Michigan International Speedway. Oh, and he gets the season sweep. :punkrocke

Perfect 5/7

I was there and everything was great. Temps in the 70's and lots of long green flag runs. I was scanning Larson most of the race and was rewarded when he started screaming "HOLY SH!T!!!" like 3 times after clearing Truex off turn 2. Pure elation. It was my first race without JG in the field and it was pretty relaxing to just hang out and take it all in.
