NHL 2017-2018

Home rink advantage is really strong so far in these playoffs. Colorado is walking all over Nashville.

Unfortunately it's not been that way with our minor league team as we have lost the first two games of our series at home. Two more losses and we're finished.
 
This Caps/Blue Jackets series is gonna go 7 and be a good one.

I'm worried about the Lightning. Faded down the stretch and haven't played particularly well against the Devils. Plus, Boston and Pitt look really strong.
 
The Wild are done jets ahead 4-0 1st period not done yet. Go Jets Go!

I liked watching the Leaf-B's tilt last night and although it is highly likely the B's will win the series it was good to see the Leafs bounce back. Freddie Andersen stood on his head and stopped over 40 shots and now it is back to TO for game 6. Go Leafs Go!
 
No Malkin for the Pens today have to see if that effects them
 
Well it's official the Winnipeg Jets take on the Predators in the second round. The top two teams in the league, and arguably the top two goalies will battle it out. This series is the one to watch this year, fast, hard, entertaining hockey. Wouldn't be surprised to see this one go 7 games.
 
I've been closing a lot so I haven't been able to watch much hockey as of late.

Great news though, the Wichita Thunder (our ECHL team) went on the road with a 0-3 deficit in the series and managed to get the upset both road games and will be coming back to Wichita on Monday for game six. I'm ready for some ECHL playoff hockey!
 
They should really rethink their beer serving policy in Philly for the Flyers games. Love the booing and all the chanting. Not so much love for full can's of beer being thrown at the players from the stands. That's ridiculous and should result in criminal prosecution.

How 'bout that, we got a Game 7. Heck of a job by Toronto just to even it up.
 
So it looks like the Capitals will have the honor of losing to Pitt in the playoffs for the...tenth time. That sounds about right.

Amen! Freddie Andersen is a wall and Mike Babcock has done a very good job of changing things up and preparing the team. Also great to see youngsters like Marner, Nylander and Matthews leading the way. Hopefully they can prevail in game 7.
 
We're heading out to Philly tomorrow through Saturday. Staying @ our usual hotel, just across the street form a decent sports bar/restaurant. Should be an interesting night, later this week, taking in the Pens/Caps series in the city that was just sent packing by our team. Not sure it will be safe to wear the colors. Many fans are a little nuts on that side of the state. @kkfan91, we may need the backing of a sensible Philly fan to watch our backs. ;)

This place treats us pretty good. They know where we're from. They put us in our own little corner and hand us the remote. Owner/workers are great. Some of the patrons are questionable. Same as any place I guess.

Looking forward to the Leafs-Bruins game tonight and I would love it if Toronto prevailed. I see the B's have made a minor lineup change and no doubt Bruce Cassidy has put the fear of God into the team as no one wants to blow a series where you were up 3-1 and end up losing the pivotal game on home ice. If the Leafs can survive the first 10 minutes and come out of the first period even they may have a shot.
 
Boston is playing scared. Have been since last game.

Somebody should tell them they led the series at one point..
 
Sitting here in Philly this morning wondering if I should wear my Pens jersey to the sports bar tonight.....

It is never fun to lose but as a fan of the Maple Leafs since the 60's I am very optimistic about their future. They are a young team that finished dead last in the league 2 years ago so they have come a long way in a short period of time. Great season boys!
