Rate The Coke 600: Charlotte

I’ll give it an 8, even with the dominance out front, still very racey everywhere else. Plus like 3 accidents that resulted in no carnage which is also awesome.
Pretty my much agree.
Always a mixed reaction when a car is sooo dominate.

8.5 :salute:

I have been to many a Coke 600 and they always have the best salute to our Military. When they play the Bagpipes, I tear up every time, the Anthem was sung with the utmost respect by a member of the Marines. :salute: True reverence throughout the ceremonies .

I am not a Kyle Bush fan, but, he took them to school on Sunday 5-27-18! :booya:

Pretty good, probably Charlotte's best in years. Didn't really see guys have trouble working their way through the field, probably actually easier than last week with the increased drive/response from the engine and no big spoiler to stall you when you pulled out. Track was pretty damn wide.

Honestly, at a point in time when it's so easy to find fault with NASCAR and the races, I found the 600 to be pretty darn good. The place wasn't empty, the racing was very entertaining throughout the field. Yes, Kyle did put a whoopin' on the rest of 'em, but all in all it was a great show. Looked like JJ/Knaus finally got their Chevy headed in the right direction, Toyotas looked stout, and the Fords looked a little off this week. And that's just my take, nothing chiseled in stone. The prerace from the 600 is always good. I appreciate the honor paid to our fallen heroes. Maybe I'm a little too optimistic, but I'll give it a solid 9. NASCAR keep putting on good shows. As bad as some folks think the sport is, this year has been better. I ain't leaving.

It has taken ~12 years since the repave, and perhaps an assist from PJ1 Track Bite, but finally at long last we have had great racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Kudos to the visor cams for showing how rough the track has become. Kudos to Goodyear for bringing soft tires that fall off sharply after a few laps, resulting in comers and goers throughout each stint. Kudos to Nascar for the low downforce aero rules that make it so difficult to drive these cars fast, and put the race back in the hands of the drivers.

The 18 had everyone covered at the front, so this was not a perfect race. But in the on-going debate about what stock car racing should be... this is what stock car racing should be. My rating... 9.0.

by far the worst race that took place yesterday, and it isn’t even close.

Interesting to see the disconnect from fans elsewhere...this would rank in the bottom 10 of all races since Jeff started doing this in 2016. :idunno:

Sadly, these same "fans" are the ones will inevitably give us plate racing everywhere.

Kyle Busch and TRD obviously made some gains this weekend. Still, something has to be said for the domination that Kyle unleashed on Sunday. I did not expect anyone to win all three stages of the Coke 600, at least not this early in the stage format's history. I could have seen it happening down the road, but not in just the second season of its implementation. Anyway, Toyota performed pretty well overall, aside from glaring miscues from #19 and #20 teams that continued to experience mixed results. Kyle Busch, Martin Truex, Jr., and Denny Hamlin showed the might of their Camrys.

There was some really quality racing behind Kyle, especially when it came to the battles for second place, or the battles for the last few top ten spots. Almost anyone could have placed in the top ten last night. Folks like Ryan Newman and Kasey Kahne were entering the fray, people who have not experienced a lot of success this year were right in the mix last night.

Chevrolet, specifically Hendrick Motorsports, looks have to have turned a page in their research and development, as the Camaros were more prevalent last night than they have been all season long. Kyle Larson, Jimmie Johnson, Jamie McMurray, Chase Elliott, and Alex Bowman all showed increased pace and more confidence in their cars last night. Jimmie, as the commentators said, was able to be more aggressive than he has been all year long. My biggest applause has to go to Jamie McMurray. The guy has gotten the short end of the straw on many occasions this year, but he put on a thrilling show during the Coke 600. That drive of his was one of true grit and determination. It was fun to see him right up against the wall, screaming by his opponents like they were driving golf carts on several occasions. He badly needed a race like that to improve his reputation and, perhaps, give him a better chance at staying at Ganassi next season.

The dominance of Kyle Busch may have stunk up the show for some folks, but there are a lot of positives to take away from this race. It was a real thriller!

nice touch, but where is your data to support that claim. Some will go so far as to bend the truth/ reality to support their views, I get that, but damn.

I think Jamie is one of the most underrated drivers currently in Cup.

I thought that the stick um was called a gimmick. I remember that was an unwelcome addition when it was first used. Definitely WASN'T natural or organic, looked disdainfully in the same category as stage racing, and the playoffs. Funny how nobody who were in the negative forefront change their tune and start singing a different song without any mention of their spots changing.

sorry you miss understood me. I phrased it wrong..what are the voting numbers saying about the 600 many of us don't have access to those numbers unless we have joined twitter

5....KB had the field covered...you knew that lap 50. Some 3-wide racing in the field saved this.

KDB in a Toyota won Bristol and it was 80% yes from the same survey. Austin Cowboy hat Dillion won Daytona in a Chevy and it was 84% yes. 84% yes was the same rating for the All Star race and it was won by Harvick in a Ford :idunno: Until the last couple of races Gluck's surveys and ToyYoda's surveys were pretty close.

7 - they just need to find the tweak that stops the leader having such a big advantage and effectively disappearing over the horizon with clean air and then this package would be awesome. The racing in the field was good to watch.
