2019 Australian Grand Prix

yawn, huge wings = bad racing, nothing new,
see u next year.

It could still be a lot better, but this is not as bad as Australia was last year.

Wow, Verstappen and Vettel managed to race each other hard but cleanly.

That start was rediculous. Other than that, I have been bored. 24 second lead? yawn.

It's still pretty crappy when Gasly is just riding around behind Kyvat for 20+ laps. Not the best course, but the wake these cars create is still a huge problem.

Rooting for Max to do his thing and make the end a spectacle.

Great to see Bottas get the win after the season he had last year, besides that looks like I didn’t miss much but I’ll check out the replay

Just finished watching. Some thoughts 1.) Couldn’t believe Ferrari is this far behind already. I really thought they’d hang with Mercedes 2.) Will anyone be able to hang with Mercedes this year? 3.) Verstappen might be ready to take that next step, impressive race 3.) LeClerc is going to give Vettel all he can handle at Ferrari at times during the year 4.) Williams current situation is sad.

It's a dreadful formula, again. Guys are driving hard, gotta give 'em credit for trying, but it's on Liberty Media (and on Ross Brawn) to fix this disastrous formula. No bueno.

at the starting grid use a reciprocating saw to cut all the wings off the cars, then race.

F1's new aero regs draw cautious optimism

“Judging by the number of passing moves in the race; 14 this year (6 without DRS) compared to three in 2018, the initial signs are encouraging,” Brawn said. “Especially as apart from the actual overtakes, we saw some thrilling battles.

“Clearly those weren’t all down to the new aerodynamics, as the performance of the midfield teams especially has closed up dramatically. However, several drivers said the cars felt more neutral when following another when compared to previous years.

I love it. I pray that this is not a one-off, and that Valtteri is going to be more of a threat and a factor this year. He was a badass all weekend long.

About five years ago the cars would occasionally fishtale exiting the corners. Tyre wear was much more obvious and a string of rubber marbles just beyond the appex and groove was common.
It was better racing.
