Rate The Cup Race: Martinsville I

7.5

It was a little underwhelming for a short track race, imo. Nevertheless, there will still be plenty of positives to take out of it. Watching all the jostling for position was pretty nice, but it was up front where the least action took place. That is how it goes sometimes.

Would have really liked to see how that played out without that last caution. 9 and 12 cars were class of the field at that point in 1st and 3rd. They came off pit road in 2nd and 4th and couldn't get back.

I love M'Ville.

drivers get a 5 they were too nice toward the end
Chase should have pushed Kez out of the way, no way was he going to pass him clean
if it was reversed Kez would have moved Chase
surprised Kyle didn't use bumper more

It's kind of sub-par for a Martinsville race, but it's still better than any of the 1.5 mile D-ovals.

The 2 had them covered which happens. Good amount of racing throughout the pack but not much paint trading. I would have liked to see the final stage play out with more strategy.

The cars seemed more stable and planted but it’s ultimately still Martinsville. They’re racing hard and racing close and the best in the business were the ones in contention at the end. It was better than last spring where it seemed like everyone just wanted to get home after the storm.

My first ever trip to Martinsville

Even though Blaney didn't win it was still a helluva race!!!
Kez may have led 90% of the race but he was 1 bobble away from getting passed for most of that time. He didn't bobble!

Sidenote: Martinsville hot dogs get a solid 7 from me. Ehh
