2019 Dover – Gander RV 400-- Pre-Race Thread

So Kyle Busch said in an interview that the corner speeds are way too fast and inching close to too dangerous? Did I see that correctly? Looking for a video of the interview.

Update: He didnt say it was too fast or too dangerous but he did mention that the amount of on throttle time does not make for good racing typically and referenced how fast the Indy cars were running here and how it was too dangerous for them - but at a certain point it gets too dangerous for Cup cars and that decision is out of his control. Mentioned that drivers are only rolling out of the throttle about 20% now. Nearly full throttle all the way.

When kyle complains about the racing he usually wins the race. So im good with whatever he wants to say lol

Elliott takes the pole, 4 out of 5 top five cars are Chevy's

Another way to keep jimmie Johnson form winning with the new aero package so the young guys with pretty face don't have to brake

How fast will they all fade like they have all season?

Who knows? Maybe they are really fast in qualifying trim, maybe they found a bit of speed. Never know.

Little disappointed by Preece and Buescher, this track has been a wheelhouse for the both of them. I expected more than 29th and 30th from them, I hope they find a bit more speed on Sunday.

Also way to go Chevy. I’ll admit this is some badass speed, basically seems like a bigger Bristol. And I’m glad it’s hard to pass! That’s what makes short track racing so great, with these speeds it’s gonna race like a high banked short track. Be nice to see some bumping

Speeds pretty close to the fabled 2014 package. Hoping for some solid racing to match. Larson might have a return to form.

Is anyone going to race tomorrow? I saw stubhub has good seats for less than $30. The weather is looking similar to last May's race.

Go every year

I'm tossing it around but the forecast does look ugly. The lots are going to be a mess. I went to all 42 races from 1990 through 2010. I'd love to go back but the weather the last two years has been dicey.

I’ll be there. Secretly hoping it gets pushed to Monday, weather looks much better.
