StandOnit, that's not necessary. Please remove the quote so you're not aiming that remark at one person.
BTW I don't think you or I have agreed on much since I have been here, we don't think alike and your opinion of a personal attack and mine vary greatly. In life there are many out there that think their's doesn't stink. We all are gong to get posts eliminated, some of them will be bad calls, most of them are not..so what, is their a trophy for never having a post deleted? It's going to happen.

If anything I've ever had deleted, that I've even noticed, has never bothered me at all I know there is a good reason and I shrug and move on. Theres more important things to get upset with in the world.

I'll chime in again as I started this mess. I first want to say that I thank and appreciate everyone who invests time in this board. From the owners, system admins, moderators, the forum members, everyone. The intent was not to call out anyone and honestly I didn't even know who the moderators were since TRL stopped her duties.

I'm not mad or upset, it is a privilege to get to post here and I can always take my ball and go home if I don't like it. The forum can of course throw my ball at me and tell me to get lost at any time as well.

The open item in my head and seems to be with at least one other is the lack of feedback on why a post is deleted. Other forums I frequent will put in a 'post removed' comment over the offending message and a note to the user or a note to the user is sent as a message as to why this happened. For myself the feedback on what I've done wrong is extremely helpful in learning what is out of bounds. I realize it is more work up front but like a good puppy I will learn and try to not make posts that will require deletion in the future once I understand interpretation of the rules better.

I was trying to keep this light (hence the pole, or poll if you must), I apologize that this got heated and I hope no one was truly offended.

This Forum aint owned by Nascar, that would be ridiculous. Lord gawd I thought everybody all ready knowed what it is all about.

Thes forum is owned by the Dallas Texas chamber of commerce to ensure Fort Worth Texas remains unrecognized and unaccredited. All the other threads is just noise, just a front to hide the real agenda.

Not taking sides, but I would rather have a post deleted than not being able to post for a short time.

Alright , carry on.

I assume TexasRaceLady is a ...lady and you are a man. Thinking alike is not possible. Uh, oh, this post might get deleted. :)

Amen. I couldn't have said it any better myself.

Now everybody knows who reads here. They know your family and mine. No way out.

My two cents....If you are going to rule with an iron fist, you cannot miss. Give some folks some leash, they will work it out on their own. @TexasRaceLady and I had more than a couple of conversations, and because of my respect for her opinion, I honored her directives even if I didn't agree. That respect was built on a conversation. Having said that, I get that the Mod does this for free, and conversations take time. It all is what it is......

Only posts of mine that have ever been deleted happened in The Podium, ironically. And it wasn't for personal attacks or anything of the sort.

I have noticed LOTS of personal atracks and ToS violations over the years with posts never being removed. I've also noticed LOTS of harmless posts that were removed. I understand that mods can't get everything right and that the mods overall do a good job. It just appears to me that some mods let their own agendas and personal opinions get in the way of being a neutral voice of reason.

I noticed one poster never posted anything bad about another poster yet 3-5 people hounded him to the point he was banned. IMO those who hounded him where the only ones guilty of anything.
Miss you Skoal and shame on those who banned him.

He brought no value to this forum. His only purpose was to annoy Standonit and others whom he had an agenda against. He said the same repetitive nonsense in every thread, regardless of the topic, with the sole intention of poking the bear.

I didn't mind him when he was Skoal, but as time went on, he seemed to get worse with every new username. He was a passive aggressive troll.

Not sure if it's the same person if so I knew him as Ian Mcvittie. And I agree with your sentiment. He was ganged up on mercilessly for no good reason. A select few think, to borrow one of their phrases, "their s3it don't stink ", and that's precisely why I don't post much here.

No rule anywhere that says you have to bring value to post here. He was a lot more enjoyable to read than the thugs that attacked him.

Even BS has value -- and everyone at some point seems to spread it around. It creates a more fertile environment for diversity of thought and opinion, even if annoying to some.

The war between topical shills and trolls add balance and perspective.

Yeah, there is a gang mentality that exists here, and what pisses me off is when the Ghost Mod goes after the guy firing back. You take enough people out around here, and you are left with the Happy Meal Club, and their agenda. The only thing Skoal was guilty of was dishing back what was dished to him by those with greasy fingers.

BTW the troll crap bewilders me. There are some here with an agenda, and when they express their crap, they will get something back. Those who fire back are the trolls? Whatever. Bottom line....Give the posters leash. It's a message board with a Ignore button. This isn't Kindergarten where everybody needs to be quiet during story time.

There does seem to be a few posters who are untouchable around here. But, it is what it is...

Agreed...including the "is what it is" part.

I think that this forum is well regulated and the best run one that I've ever seen. It's the main reason that It's lasted this long. Over the years I've had my run in's with the powers that be and just smile and go about my business. The problem with the other forums shutting down is along with the good ones from those we also got the dregs that caused them to shut down. Some members, including two that were recently ousted, made it clear that they came on here only to try and destroy this place just like they did with other forums. I love this place so anybody that's not happy here is free to leave and I for one wish they would.

Steps down off of soap box.

Agree - poorly mod'ed message boards are the worst. There needs to be a genuine moderating mission and in my experience on these things, the boards with active mods who have the main objective of keeping the discussion above-board and respectful are the best, most enjoyable boards over the long-haul. And if the board is a special interest topic area, incessant bad-mouthing of that interest (in a non-productive way) is definitely an activity that calls for moderation IMO.

I'm not responding to the poll because I think the options are bunk. I'm not going to call it 'heavy-handed' when no examples are given. If you want to be on a 'crap all over Nascar all the time' board, start one . . . or just go on Twitter like everyone else.

Exactly. Three different user names ought to tell people something. Constant drivel about, "old fans", "no new fans", "NASCAR sinking like rock". Everybody has read it, we get it. If you cant add anything constuctive to help with the problems, then what's your point? Don't want trouble, don't start none. I do not miss that clown for two seconds.

While I love this place and the people on it and have spent way too much time here since finding it about 5 years ago, I do think things are a little too...fragile, at times. The "offensive" things that I've seen here are merely child's play compared to some of the other message board I've seen or been a part of for other sports/hobbies. We're (mostly) all adults - I think - so imo it wouldn't hurt to let things venture into R rated territory here and there. It doesn't always have to be so kumbayah. Life certainly is not so it's a little unrealistic to expect that to the degree that it seems to be expected. Just my two cents.

I wasn’t aware each post is required to be original. Thanks.
