Chicago RACE thread

It’s such a special event on July 4th weekend at Daytona Rick, that NASCAR decided to murder the date next year and give it to Indy.

Since nothing is sacred anymore, they should have the Daytona 500 be the championship race.

I'm only halfway being facetious.

Kyle Busch is back on the lead lap and almost back in contention already?

It's wayyyy too easy to get a lap back now with the wave around and free pass stuff. Call me old fashioned but I think a problem like Kyle had should be something that takes you 100 laps to climb out of.

I’m with you, if you’re going to crap on what little tradition you have left, then let’s just jump into the deep end of the pool and just make Daytona the Championship race. The NASCAR Daytona Championship Bowl presented by Monster Energy.

Nevermind, Kyle's still a lap down.

Something I would've known if NBC used a pylon and showed distance like literally every other motorsports broadcast on NBCSN and FS1.

His old car, old CC, and old team.

I would too have an infinity for the team. Not to mention he recruited Bowman and helped groom him for HMS.
I know I was being facetious , It cracks me up when Jeff does it and cracks me up when Jr does it too.

Never forget this is a team sport
I know

The serious part of me thinks the championship race has taken a ton of prestige away from the Daytona 500.

Daytona doesn't feel special anymore, like Indy does.

Another Gander Weekend at Pocono...Marcus Lemonis is a good dude.

The Daytona 500 is special to me, it always will be. I just view the Championship race for what it is...an ill conceived gimmick I hope and pray that goes away one day.

Look at our regulars start to creep into the picture: 2,22 and 19.

I care less and less about Daytona.

Fox hasn't helped either. We don't have around the clock Speedweeks coverage anymore that gets us pumped up. Instead, we get college basketball.

I don't miss SPEED like everyone else, because there's so much more racing on TV now, and because SPEED mostly aired reality show crap, but I haven't cared hardly at all about Daytona in recent years.

I agree, the lack of Speedweeks coverage sucks, it really did make the 500 feel like the biggest race of the year.

Not sure what that has to do with this week, but okay.
NBC has brought it up 3 times already this race....I’m throwing this week out.... give me a desperate Ricky at Daytona and watch the Fireworks like last year!
