World of Outlaws 2019

I thought about driving from Columbus but looks like it’ll rain. I think it’ll be postponed until tomorrow

They should reschedule... not sure why #LetsRaceTwo or whatever it's called can't be later in the year.

I'm just glad they rescheduled the #LetsRaceTwo event and are getting it in. It's a heck of a bill having WoO and USAC national sprints on the same bill. Wish the Doty Classic could be held this Sunday, but apparently Sunday is set as Eldora's rain date if needed.

Heat racing for both winged and non-winged sprints was solid. 42 WoO cars and 27 USAC cars in the pits tonight.

Good race, lots of movement up front and throughout the field. Schatz wins and will probably be the man to beat all weekend, but several aren't far behind (Gravel, Schuchart, Sweet).

Brad Sweet staysbhot and takes the Jokers Wild

54 cars? Holy hell. I wonder if they could get 25-27 for Reno... because even that would be nice.

Highlights from last night, the Schatz and Sweet battle will be interesting all weekend, with others nipping at their heels.

The Big Cat gets the big money victory in an interesting race with a few leaders and a lot of comers and goers. Now I'm about to watch some non-winged sprints at my local track, good stuff all weekend at Eldora.

What a race last night. Much more intrigue than I thought there would be with Schatz starting on the front row and having been the class of the field all week. Several different drivers seemed the fastest at different points, and it was great to see legends Sammy Swindell and Jac Haudenschild finish in the top ten among the current top talent.

Is KK still driving?

He was injured in a rollover crash in PA and was said to be out of the car for an undetermined amount of time. McFadden seemed very fast for a while but hasn't been quite as strong lately. I'm not sure if and when Kahne is coming back this year.

He was hurt at William's Grove in March, he was on MRNs winged nation last week and said hes still recovering. Hes never revelied what his injuries were but he did say that there were days he could barely move from the couch. My guess is Kasey takes the rest of the year off to recover fully. He had said his goal running a lot this year was to try and win Knoxville and since that's not too far off I doubt he runs after that except maybe to for the World Finals

Heres a link to the video I can only find it on Kaseys Facebook so not sure how well it will share

Cool in-car view of Brent Marks' race, who started 16th and finished 3rd. He even helpfully reaches back to wipe off the camera under caution. :D

I watched all 4 night of Eldora last week. Several things struck me as amazing. #1, how perfectly the track was prepared each night. quick time was low 13.0s all 4 nights. #2; How few crashes there really were over the 4 nights. Obviously, the last night for the big money brought out a few more, but I think prior to the Kings Royal Saturday, there really was only one crash prior, and that was the 83 car of Kyle and Adam Cruea, (which was a beautiful maroon and gold leaf body) #3. The future of the WoO is in good hands with the current marketing, streaming and driver package. The young guns are filling the shoes of the old guys quite nicely. Other notes: Logan S is a definite threat at Knoxville. Brads on top of his game. Donnys just so good, but obviously is missing RW every time he hits the track.

My racing vacation starts this Friday with the ASCOC at Jackson Motorplex. If you have not seen this joint, put it on the list, because its a top shelf facility. From there, we head to our Kamp in Knoxville for the ASCOC/weekly show there on Saturday. Sunday-Thursday is spent getting our Kamp Knoxville set up, then its racing every night starting with the 3 nights of the 360 Nationals, Capitani Classic on Sunday. Front Row Challenge on Monday, Ultimate Challenge on Tuesday and capping off the 2 week vaca with the Knoxville Nationals. Heading home on Sunday August 11th. The hardest part of the whole thing is getting home and weaning ourselves from being on "Knoxville Time" . 21 years in a row we've did this gig, and we have 2 years left on our camping lease, but the owner told us last year "Kamp Knoxville is yours for as long as you want it" which was awesome. I think weve got the best campsite in Knoxville.. 431 yards from the elevator tower.. :) with Dingus in between, and another pub across the street a block away. Cannot wait..

They have enough cars for a C-Main tonight at Lernerville. I like it when the big series aren't competing against each other.
