2019 New Hampshire -- Foxwoods Casino 301-- Pre-Race Thread

Since one of the Steve’s has a delusional belief that the west coast is the biggest market, and is the sole reason for starting races during the peak heat of the day. Why not just run the races Sunday night?

I'm not against a few more Sunday night races actually.

For many reasons, one being races are scheduled at least a year in advance, they can't schedule races a week before and move it for the heck of it.
and New Hampshire doesn't have lights for another

Do I understand you want to base start times on what you acknowledge is a delusion?

I think start times should be based upon MY schedule. :)

wow Bowman wrecked the backup car, Byron is in the backup car, that leaves JJ and Elliott with spares and Bowman without for Hendrick

Welp, one of them will have the 88 on the side of it come tomorrow.

JJ brought up a great point a couple of weeks ago at Daytona. HMS has gone away from the former cell system they had. When the 24/5 (9) and 48/88 were in the same side of the garage. HMS has gone away from that and now has gone the direction of making all of the cars more similar to one another. Similar to Penske in how everything is made in-house together. It was on the MRN channel while I was listening to MRN at Daytona during the rain delay. To the point JJ was driving Chase's car during the last tire test. Just an interesting tidbit I forgot to mention a couple of weeks ago.

Bryon will be using JJ's back up car,

HMS chose to use Jimmies because his car is painted and Chase's is wrapped , they said
“The plan for the 88 is to get the 48 car. We chose that because its a painted car and not a wrapped car, versus the 9. To re-wrap the 48 is a better option as far as body tolerances and things like that.”

Byron has been very disappointing lately. I know he is young, but my hopes were superstar level for him. Guy wins 7 races his first year in trucks and 4 in Xfinity. Then comes to cup and has really struggled to find his footing, shocked honestly

That's a hottake. He had a good piece last week until Bowyer gamed him on the restart. Showed off the goods at Sonoma and Chicagoland leading laps. Good finish at Daytona. Pole and top 10 at Pocono.

He'll get there imo.

Surprised to learn that the 88 Axalta color scheme is a wrap. I'd always heard that Axalta cars were painted because, you know, Axalta sells actual paint. Hmmm.

Depends on the scheme. The ones that show off special feature (metal flake, color shifting, etc) are paint. Even for those races, the team probably has a wrap for occasions like these.

I have the solution, think I will do a thread....

The race is scheduled to start at 3pm at about 173° F, it will be very hot.
Nascar just needs to book the race to start at 3 o'clock. That would have allowed Nascar to call an audibles and and run the race at 3am in this case. The same technology could be used for managing the rain races as well.

You've been out in the heat too long.
