NASCAR Pick 'Em 2019 - Phoenix #2

@Clutch's performance with "C" drivers has been outrageous. Below I have listed Clutch's score and that driver's average 2019 score.

DiBenedetto 12 (average = 18.4)
McDowell 13 (average = 23.9)
Hemric 7 (average = 22.8)
Buescher 13 (average = 17.9)
Preece 18 (average = 22.9)
Ty Dillon 20 (average = 20.5)
Chastain 22 (average = 28.0)
Bubba Wallace 12 (average = 23.6)
Kligerman 26 (average = 26.5)
Matt Tifft 25 (average = 26.0)
Gaughan 27 (average = 19.2)
D. Ragan 11 (average = 26.0)
J.H. Nemechek 21 (only one race = 21)

13 "C" Drivers = 17.4 (average = 22.8)

My season really ended at Martinsville where my pick, 14th place Kyle Busch, finished three spots behind @Clutch's 11th place David Ragan.

Logano P2 qual. Man my A listers did as good as anyone could've hoped for. It's still not over, as Cassill struggled & starts 33rd.

Yeah.....I'm thinking I may have messed up.
It was him or Corey LaJoie.....And if I had been you I would have taken Chase this week and Logano next week....:idunno:

Same.. but.. Joey HAS to do good today.. and he usually can step up in those times.. could be a good play

Logano 9th Cassill 33rd. Possibilities continue to Homestead. Still below the 27.3 avg but anything can happen

As they say, it ain't over 'till it's over.

But with one race remaining in the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, the Pick 'Em game is damn close to being over as long-time leader @Clutch holds a commanding 38 point lead over second place @Elliott_Fan_9.

While @Clutch's driver pick for the season's final race at Homestead is anybody's guess, @Elliott_Fan_9 has indicated that he'll use Chase Elliott in his last ditch effort to win the game's championship.

At Homestead, Elliott must finish at least 39 positions ahead of whoever @Clutch picks in order for @Elliott_Fan_9 to win this year's championship trophy. Note that @Elliott_Fan_9 has the advantage in the tie-breaker picks category, having picked two race winners over the course of the season to Clutch's one.

Meanwhile, congrats to the six players that picked the second place finisher at Phoenix, Kyle Busch. They share this week's "Highest Finishing Pick" award.

Additional congrats to @Greg and @jws926 for having the most upward movement in the standings, each moving up five spots.

Finally, the "Wiping Up the Rear" award is presented to @DUN24 and @Turtle84, whose pick of Chase Elliott finished dead last.

That's correct. Chase is my pick for the season finale. Joey actually led a large portion of the race before he (I assume) battled an ill handling race car in the middle portion of the race.

Needless to say, congrats to @Clutch. His consistency with C-list drivers enabled him to win the championship. Well done sir.

Edit: I know I am technically mathematically still in the hunt but realistically the odds are very low.

As they say: second place is first loser. I'll gladly take a podium finish anyway. :headbang:

Well Joey just dashed my dream of winning the prediction of the year.
There goes this years chance for anyone being a repeat winner in the chase championship.
