Rate the 2019 Season

I’d give it a 7. I really enjoyed this season. I watched nearly every race of all three series (all of Cup) and I enjoyed it. Stage racing is awesome. I like the points system and playoff structure. I was fine with the package - I’m always fine with it for the most part, but it seemed like they cut down on the leader aero advantage and that was a good thing.

I like to watch stock car racing. I enjoy a sport with so many stories and variables unfolding at one time. I don’t really get all the nitpicking, it just seems like some people refuse to just sit back and enjoy themselves.

I'm not a fan of "package racing". They should be hauling arse at Michigan and Pocono. Likewise at the 1.5 milers. Plate racing has turned into a circus. It was never great but now they just wreck for fun it seems. Of the 4 races I attended in person two were awful (spring Martinsville, first Pocono) one was decent (second Pocono) and one was really good (Kentucky). That averages out to about the worst "live experience" year I've ever had. The last month of the season in general was terrible. The races and the energy/atmosphere at the races down the stretch just screamed "blah".

I'd be happy with about 4-5 fewer races. I'd also like to an extra bye to two to help create some withdraw/demand.

As of now I have 3 races lined up for 2020, spring Martinsville (now at night in May), Sunday Pocono and Kentucky. Although that could easily end up being two (Martinsville/Pocono) if I'm not liking what I'm seeing. I only renewed Martinsville.

I wanted to get tickets to the Martinsville night race, but the Hampton Inn is already booked apparently. If I can find a decent hotel near the track, I'll go

Lmao Jeff has been retired for 3 seasons and is probably on a Spanish beach right now but he’s a root cause of this season’s problems?

Lets not get your knickers in a bunch bc Keselowski said this was like easy mode on a video game and then wrecked.
I can't believe freaking Jeff Gordon's name is being brought into a conversation discussing what/whom has caused the regression of intensity in NASCAR's racing.

I stay in Roanoke which is about 60 minutes away. That's close enough for me....
