Charlotte RACE thread --- May 28

Atta way 9! Best driver in the sport right now
Chase is top 5-6, and probably has the best and fastest stuff right now, but let's pump the breaks,he's not the best driver in the sport and probably is 2-4 yrs from that. Hasn't done enough yet.

How many races has Blaney ran top 3 all race this year and not be in position to win?

5x considering Las Vegas & Phoenix.
That's how it goes sometimes, unfortunately.

In 2015, Harvick should have won about 20 of them lol. If you got speed, it all works out.

Best is a bit of stretch imo. The 4 and 18 are still the best right now. I think the 19 is right there too but Truex has stretches of solid obscurity at times.

I'd go 18, 4, 2, 19 then the 9.....

I think it was 2014 but either way I remember the running joke we had on here on how he would lose said race lol

22 as well. You got 5 champions in their primes right now (save maybe Harvick), and then Chase, with 7 wins in 150ish starts, resulting in a low 4% career win percentage, which is significantly lower than those guys. That will climb, and will climb this year. Chase will probably have his time when he can have that claim, he's not there yet.

Last thing then goodnight............ Ricky you drove a hell of a race. A hell of a race. I think the light may have come on.

Austin Dillon ran so well is his Bass Pro Shops car, and Martin Truex Jr. ran so poor in his Bass Pro Shops car, that I suspected Truex accidentally got in Dillon's car. :p

But, Truex ended up finishing only one position behind Dillon.

Good job by the 9 team and another win for HMS and Chevy.:D:beerbang: That was awesome. The only let down for me tonight was the 88 hitting the wall. What a weird a-ss week for HMS. The way the 4 was falling off on long runs and as fast as the 88 and 9 were on long runs I think HMS could have had a1-2 finish if the 88 hadn't banged the wall. Oh well it's early in the season and there are plenty more races to get a 1-2 victory for HMS.:)
.

REDEMPTION!!!!!!!!!! **** YEAH BABY

Leave my dawg Alan G alone, he turned that thing into a race winner tonight

I'm not saying some of his pit calls haven't left me scratching my head, but I would take Alan on my team ANY day of the week. The guy has 27 wins with four different drivers. Not many crew chiefs out there with those kind of numbers right now.

Great to see Chase win , also great to see Blaney run well too. I think Ryan is going to win one of these next upcoming races, him and Todd seem to be figuring it out.

Chase is on a roll...

But dammit, the 43 team has GOT to give Bubba better cars. Running top ten and the car breaks...again.
Two possible top 12-15 finishes are out the window.

He and Jerry Baxter have been killing it, but if the reliability was there... Man, that team has really been impressive so far with their speed its just they need to finish. Bristol should be a breathe of fresh air for them.

I would assume that their limited budget may explain much of the trouble.

You're probably right, sir.

The RCR deal is not extensive as others think. RCR gave RPM a space within the shop and RCR gives them engines, no chassis or data sharing. With association you know better than I do it comes at a price. It's like the Pocono incident years ago with the brakes failing on Bubba's car.

They probably had to cut corners to get this improved speed.

I think I was holding my breath for the last 10 laps. Congrats to Chase - he earned the win.

The race was pretty good too. There were a number drivers rising and falling throughout the race.

I like the Charlotte track and thanks to Chase the ratings are back up where they should be. I will give the race an 8 3/4. The finish was a little dismal because the leader was in another zip code 2 1/2 second in front of the second place car due to clean air. But, no one seems to be complaining about it like they did on Sun, so I can live with it, especially since it was an HMS Chevy. Not every race has to be a photo finish imo.
