I have having a tough time deciding between 87 Dale and 81 DW. I think 07 Jimmie is in the mix as well.

That said, I have a hard time putting it up against 87 Dale and 82 DW. I gotta go with 82 DW for #2.

Who's your #2 all time peak? It can be anyone!

I'm gonna say Richard Petty '67. I don't care what era we're talking about, 10 wins in a row is absurd.

Jimmie Johnson '07. Winning in double digits in the most competitive era of nascar is an impressive feat.

To put into perspective how competitive that season was, in spite of Jimmie's 10 wins, there where 15 other different winners that season.

However you define a driver's peak. Best overall season, likely resulting in a championship, since we are ranking the top 15 ever.

Doesn't have to be most wins, unless that's how you define it.

For example. I have 2005 as peak Tony Stewart, even though he won more races in 2002.

Just wondering. Many people refer to Richard Petty's 1967 season as his peak season. It certainly was in wins because they ran 48-50 races a year back then. But his '75 season was truly a peak season. Won 13 out of 30 races, won the championship by over 700 points, and was really the beginning of the end of his great run.
