Cup RACE thread --- Michigan, #2

Bowman outside of his win has been pretty bad this season.

He's been making a lot of mistakes as of late. I wonder what is going on with that 88 team?
I think his car is just not performing very well and he is tying to force good results and it is biting him. Or maybe the car is lightning fast and he just forgot how to drive...I think I'm going with my first idea. What ever the case I hope they get it fixed before the elimination rounds.

Bonehead of Michigan Race #2: Myself, for starting Keselowski instead of Harvick.

Flowchart that process for me, please.

Prior to yesterday's race, I only had three Harvick starts remaining. I didn't want to use up two of his three remaining starts this weekend, so I started Keselowski yesterday.

When I was considering whether to make changes today, I gambled and kept Keselowski since he had a strong second-place finish yesterday. I figured many people would start Harvick today because of his win yesterday, and maybe I could get an advantage if Keselowski were to beat Harvick today.

Oops.

32 of Harvick's 55 career wins have come since he joined Stewart Haas in 2014. You have to wonder how many wins he'd have if he'd jumped ship 10 years earlier. I wouldn't be surprised if he reaches 70 wins the way he's running rn.

I can't recall a driver doing this well in his age range. His longetivity has been very impressive.

To where? He was the second one in the door at SHR, right behind Tony.

You forget about Ryan Newman driving the 39 for SHR and of course Danica Patrick in the 10? Too bad for Harvick he didn't have a ride with SHR sooner than he did.

I've been a harvick fan from the start in 01. I never dreamed he'd reach 50 wins. I think 70 is a pretty lofty number given his age but it's possible.
I'm proud of his rcr years. He ran toe to toe with the best in inferior equipment. Richard gave him his shot in this sport and I'm glad he didn't abandon rcr at his first shot to do so. He came very close to bringing the title home in the 29 a couple of times. I believe he paid his debt to Richard and obviously the move to the 4 was the right thing to do.

Childers has excelled with the Gen 6 car, no matter the racing package. We shall see what performance he squeezes out of the Gen 7 car.

It’s obvious the lack of practice is killing the 18. Had a race of practice yesterday and got another spot today....lack of practice is definitely killing him.

I thought that also but with 3 00 miles of practice the day before he didn't show
any improvement Sunday. Maybe the love affair with his CC is over and he is looking for someone new.

Or vice versa. :)

The Chevy guys must have a bad decal or something, appears that their best is a mile an hour slower than the 'yotes and Fords...at least with this package.

To me that is a good thing..... Unfortunately, those people have sleds instead of race cars this year.

Yeah I’m enjoying it. All the Chevy fans that jumped on the 48, 24, and 4 bandwagons act like they lost interest in NASCAR lately. Figures though, they just jumped on bandwagons.....
