She's fine.

Her brother picked her up after she lost power during the crisis and she's been staying with him but doesn't have access to the internet.

Just thought I'd share since people have asked about her. I'm friends with her on Facebook and some of her friends have posted updates since she can't get online.

It's a mess down here. We were 40 hours without power, running off a 3800 onan and 3000 honda. With 3 space heaters, the fridge, and fireplace, was only 60 inside the house. Once we ran out of firewood, got down to 49. Generator gas was hard to find. Dad scoured local construction site discard bins for pieces of 2x4 and 2x6 we could burn.

Not sure about Dawn (MajestyX). My friend that lives down her way has his whole family (10 people) in his house, was able to borrow a 9K diesel generator and made a patch cable from his welding plug in the garage to the generator - says he's pulling 25 amps through the 30 amp interconnect to run the central heat.

Could be worse on my end I see. I hope you guys get relief soon. Me in NE Okie land, I am almost out of propane but anyway I can do without using space heaters as long as the electricity holds out. Plumbing froze and blew up during the 500 of course, but I had water saved up and plenty of food until it warms up enough that I can get up the hill and hunt plumbing parts and pieces and the propane truck can make it down.

Damn. Now I feel lucky to have been traveling between minus 15 degree weather in Omaha with a foot of snow on the ground and an ice storm in Portland that knocked out power for 300,000 people, but not me. Take care everyone.

The Jet Stream is the only thing saving our ass here in central Florida.

Good luck to you folks in the heart of this bad ass weather, our prayers are out for you.

My corporate office had a water line break - water is above the baseboards on first floor. Pier and Beam building, so it's going to be a task to rebuild.

Only way we found out, the CEO's assistant went to check on the building security system because I wasn't sure if it was arming after the power outage.

Company was already closed through Friday in accordance with the school district, but now I may be working Friday, and next week is gonna be a ****show.

I'm back ! ! Power went out Monday, so called my brother to come rescue me. I've been there since Monday morning. His
home NEVER lost power, so we were warm and able to fix food. He did lose water yesterday --- makes flushing a toilet after #2 a pain to fill the tank. Fortunately, he'd stockpiled a couple of 50 gallon barrels of water for just such emergencies. Had several cases of bottled water to drink. His water company has a broken main, so no telling when his will be back on. They followed me home and got some hot showers. That was the least I could do for their help the past 4 days.
Have been home about an hour. All seems well. Still have to boil water to drink, cook, brush teeth, etc., but I can do that.

Went to my corp office today. It has 2" of water in it. Got furniture and IT assets relocated.

Then went to one of my clinics east of Dallas. That was a ****show.

First, the pipes in the ceiling broke in 3 different places. The bottom floor was ankle deep. Also, it ran down the wall where the HVAC breaker panel was, and started a situation there that required fire department intervention. Got all the furniture and IT assets there relocated.

Such a fun day. 11.5 hours and over 150 miles.
