Johali's Rate the Cup race --- Roval

Solid 10 for the last few laps of absolute mayhem. Two or lower for the rest of the spectacle.

1 and that's because Christopher Bell earned the win. Everything else that happened was a 0.

4 - for the race and the f'ing turtle they can not seem to keep from coming up.

10 - For Melon Man advancing onto the next

round. I f'ing hate this format of racing. The NBC Gerbals were nauseating to say the least.

2... being gracious because the last five laps made it interesting. Would have liked Harvick to pull it off, but it was obvious the advantage of the new tires.

This format and fake track gives me the impression that it was made for some kid's video game.

This one literally had everything that makes a race terrible.
No passing for 100 laps, two GWCs, tons of dumb moves late in the race, a kerb coming lose and a team order.
I'll go with that.

3. That race sucked in person, more HP and soft/hard tire compounds are needed in this sport for the slower speed tracks

5 I don’t think I have ever rated a race this low

That may be the only race I’ve ever seen that I did not enjoy in person.

It was a really weird vibe all day. It started off rough for me when I went by the massive accident and flames on I-85 on the way in. Then the fan zone was lackluster at best compared to just 5-6 years ago. Nelly concert was just out of place, and then the race had zero drama or compelling runs. It was just single file zooming. Chase couldn't catch the 31 or 16, but when he leap frogged them by undercutting in the pits then suddenly the 16 couldn't get within 4 seconds of the 9. Then along came the sign. We left after the first restart because I was 1)pisssed and 2) apathetic to sit in traffic afterwards to watch the inbound carnage.

Oh, and FU to the speedway for charging for all parking now. The lot I parked in had always been free, but now it was $20. (Lot W across from ZMax Dragway. It used to be most of those lots were free, just the closest section was $25

Seriously?? I don't think I have ever paid for parking at a NASCAR race.

For literally 100 years, infield parking at Indy was free, but for the last decade they have charged and charged plenty, and you have to buy the parking pass in advance.

Yep. $20 for the lots on Bruton Smith Blvd, and if you wanted the same side of the road as the track, that's $75.

Like I said though, last time I went in 2019, those lots were free. So it's changed.

I haven't parked in the free lots at Charlotte for a few years. There are a couple of paid lots much closer to my seats. One's only a few dozen spaces so getting out takes no time. That's worth $20 to me.

There's no such thing as the best car at short tracks or road courses this year. It's all track position and no passing.

Phoenix in the spring was the same.

Championship race this year will be a disaster. Something egregious is going to happen.

Blow it up. Get back to the old chase for the cup system man
